Stopped in here three times while staying at the hotel it's attached to. Once for drinks at the bar and twice for breakfast.
My double Abosolut with soda and a splash of oj was on point.
But the breakfast kicks ass.
I can definitely recommend all four dishes we had:
1) Le Montréalais
Two poached eggs on English muffin, smoked salmon, fresh dill, hollandaise sauce, sautéed potatoes and fresh fruit.
2) French Crepe
Red berries, 15 Lots estate maple syrup
3) Fairmont Bagel with smoked salmon
Cream cheese, fresh fruit and garnishes
4) Renoir Belgian waffle
Red berries, banana and 15 Lots estate maple syrup
All were excellent.
And the service was attentive but not intrusive.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Morgan H.Burbank, United States267916Sep 10, 2023
The food was phenomenal. Next time I'm in Montreal, Renoir will be my first visit. I was super impressed by the quantity and presentation of the food. The ambiance was quiet and relaxing and the staff was attentive and kind. 10/10

Does not live up to the price and 4 star rating.
While service was good, there were multiple areas that required major improvements. First, the host barely spoke English, doesn't know how the pos machine functions, and gave us a blank menu.
In terms of the food, the biggest letdown was the octopus, do not get it. We did not like the sauce nor the octopus itself.
Really don't want to keep writing since there's really nothing much to write home about, except the fact that tables were easy to book thru OpenTable.
I will leave it right there, at 100 usd per person, just don't go there.

Excellent tasting french menu and professional cocktails at an affordable price. Semi-casual ambiance. Immaculate service.

Just the best meal we had in Montreal. Superb food with excellent gluten-free options. Louise made superb recommendations for food and wine that were spot on. The staff are pleasant and genuinely seem to enjoy working there--that is a sign of the right manager. Comfy ambience that is classy while not pretentious. With the best chefs, that adds up to a magical meal. You will not regret it.

Our favorite meal on a recent trip to Montréal. The service was excellent, as was each course of our meal ( try the maple lacquered octopus!) .The wine list was extensive and very representative, unlike current tendencies to simply fill the wine list with "more of the same". We usually stay across the street at the Ritz, but this was our first time at Renoir. We'll certainly return.

Looking for the perfect location for a lunch date? Renoir offers an unbeatable lunch special. For the quality and quantity of food served, the cost is reasonable!
For $36, you get a choice of appetizer, main, dessert and coffee/tea. The lunch options were extensive and there's something for everyone - carnivores, pescatarians and vegetarians.
I ordered the Beef Tartare for my appetizer. The portion was insanely huge and could have quite easily been a main. It's served with a hand full of match stick fries and crispy capers. The tartare was well seasoned and enjoyable. For my main, I ordered the grilled lamb chops, salsa verde, pearl couscous and eggplant caviar. The entire plate was delicious, and once again, the portion was more than enough. For dessert, I had the cheese cake. This may have been the highlight of the meal for me. I found the texture wasn't as dense as your typical cheesecake - it was light and fluffy.
Luckily for me, this restaurant is a stone's throwaway from work. So, yes - I will definitely be returning very soon!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Jackson D.Dallas, United States1847Mar 13, 2022
The presentation and taste of all of our dishes were amazing. This is a great place for an intimate dinner. We had impeccable service and care, especially by our very knowledgeable and gracious sommelier and host. Thank you for a lovely dinner and evening at Renoir!

I can't put my finger on it, but I really like this place. It could be the decor, the staff, the food and the location / convenience.
There's just enough attention to details and I've even made suggestions to my wife how she should present my food at home.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
