This review is specifically for the fine jewelry department. Angie has helped me out on numerous occasions, whether I'm coming in to browse jewelry or assisting me with getting my ring fixed/resized. She is very knowledgeable about sales, pricing & diamonds!! I only want to deal with her when I come in. The other women who work there are nice as well but I'm just comfortable with Angie helping me because she's always there. If you're in need of some nice jewelry for a good price I highly recommend going to see her

Feels like it is hanging on a thread. Prices are fairly reasonable but you get what you pay for and stuff is all over the place, not to mention- customer service was lacking.

Won't price match Amazon they did two years ago. The cashier called LOD whatever that stands for probably "life or death" because they didn't know how to price match really wow out of nowhere a young women appeared and gave lip service that they don't price match Amazon even though the website clearly says they do I will never shop here again they chose to run there business like one in Mexico they will be gone like sears in no time.

Great deals, decent quality, not crowded. You can shop online and pick up in store. I've had good luck with doing that, trying on before I leave and exchange so I don't have to come back.

I curse this store to die a painful death.
Actually, I thought it already was dead. Thought JCP went out of business eons ago, like Sears, Mervyns, Borders, etc. That's the impression JCP has...

Grandma bought shoes for my boys as Christmas presents and we needed a different size. We went to a different location near Grandma (not Del Amo) to find the right size. The size we needed wasn't available at that location so the JCP store associate placed an order using the JCP point-of-sale system for pick up in the Del Amo store.

I was told I would pick up at the Del Amo store. Associate verified my name, phone number and email were right in the system. She showed me the screen and I saw she added this information. Let me say that again, JCP placed the order.

A week later, I got the text and emails saying the order was ready at Del Amo.

      DELINQUENT DEL AMO JCP:
The young snappy associate at this Del Amo store took 1 second to say I wasn't the person who placed the order. I said, nope, my name is in the system for pick up. My name is in the notes of your JCP system - I saw it myself. Plus, I got the texts and emails - look - and I show her. Grandma has the same unique last name. Associate just kept sheepishly saying the name is different.

Like, try a different screen. Press some buttons. Look for the notes. Do something, anything, to find the information I know is there in that dinosaur system. She does none of that.

I told her she was getting me frustrated and how she should look at how visually upset she was getting me.

She said, CAN YOU SEE HOW VISUALLY CONFUSED I AM?
OMG. She talked back at me! Since when did I become your high school teacher? Half wit then refused to help me further and called her manager. This young lady is going to go far in life with her IQ and work ethic. EYEROLL

The trash associate had her friend tell me to wait for the manager. I had to stand there and wait (a form of her getting me more irritated, that's for sure). To think her incompetence and terrible attitude weren't bad enough. Hubby steps in to help make sure she's in check.

The manager comes over to tell me *I* need to do this right next time. Um, no, this order was placed by a JCP employee using a JCP workstation. If either of you ladies pushed a few buttons, I'd bet you'd find that information. It's amazing how terrible this entire team is.

Also, it's 2020 and JCP needs to figure out how to serve customers with computers (whoa, ooo buttons aaah) in this century. Who doesn't order online for another to pick up these days? It shouldn't take a manager to this done. It shouldnt take telling a customer to 'learn' how to work with JCP's arcane legacy technology.

We don't ever be back, not even Grandma!!!
Hope that associate falls into a GIANT sink hole! Great if her team falls in too!

Do not order online! This has been a NIGHTMARE, their customer service team is constantly lying over the phone to cover for the distribution center which is having some serious issues sending out orders. I had to wait over a month for them to ship out my order, they told me it had been canceled and said I am required to make a repurchase of the same item in order to receive one. Now I am stuck with an extra order of the same item because they did not/cannot cancel orders so they lied to me multiple times on multiple occasions.

I really don't like writing negative reviews but I feel that I really must detail my most recent experience at JCPenney in hopes that other people will be warned and perhaps the management may take note. Though I doubt that they will.

To tell my story, I haven't been into JCPenney for quite a while but somebody gave me a gift card a while back and as we are at the end of the COVID-19 coronavirus lockdown I was in the mall and I thought I would go into JCPenney and see what I could find. I grabbed a couple of things and went to stand in line. There were about four people in front of me. What happened next is that a lady with a large family went up to buy two items. She paid for them and her transaction was concluded. This is where the problems began. After the woman had completed her transaction one of her family members instead of standing in line like everyone else brought up four or five additional items. The cashier said nothing and rang her up. After that lady was done another family member, a male, walked up with an additional eight or 10 items. After he was done, another male family member, who had obviously still been shopping, walked up to buy a pair of sweatpants. Then, there appeared to be another family member getting ready to check out bypassing the rest of the line. Again, the cashier did nothing and continued to individually check out the various members of this family while everyone else waited in line.

At this point I said forget it. I left. The cashier should not have let all of these family members come up one at a time while all of the other customers were waiting in line to purchase the items they had already acquired. That is just very poor customer service and, as we all can understand, very frustrating.

This situation was compounded by the fact that this family had three or four young boys who had removed their masks. Again, this is during the period of the COVID-19 coronavirus where everyone is required to wear a mask in the store. But these young boys had removed their masks and we're fighting in the isles. Certainly, I understand, boys will be boys. But, these children, and their family not managing them, put all of the other customer's health at risk. Again, no staff member went up to this family and told them that the children should remain wearing their masks.

This is simply bad customer service and JCPenney should have management in place to take care of these situations. They did not.
