UPDATE:
I was put in touch with Scott Jones, owner of West Coast Mazda, who sincerely apologized for the handling of this simple issue. He has taken tremendous steps toward rectifying what happened. They are fixing the car at no cost to me and reimbursing me for the costs I incurred while stuck in Kamloops. I have also received a personal apology from the person mentioned below (I agreed to remove his name as a means to rectifying the situation) and feel that hey have gone above and beyond to fix a really bad situation.
I encourage everyone to deal with Scott Jones if you can.
I've changed my rating from 1 star to 3.
ORIGINAL POST (redacted):
[redacted] at West Coast Mazda spoke down to me and told me to "listen" when I tried to argue my case. Never ever go here.
[redacted] claims it takes hundreds of thousands of deadly or potentially deadly incidents to get parts recalled.
Only concerned with their bonuses, I'm sure.
Went to [redacted] to deal with a catastrophic manufacture defect in a car they sold my husband and I. He tells me tough cookies. Your warranty is up. They say it's a used vehicle (we bought it at 2 years old) and despite the "certified pre-owned" stamp of approval (an up charge) they cannot guarantee the state of the cars reliability. All over a $400 fix. This wasn't a warranty issue. Absolutely no sympathy whatsoever that my husband and I could have gotten into a major accident. He tells me to call Mazda Canada. They won't even answer the phone. Says he would call 2 days ago. Still hasn't called. So much for customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alisha O.Port Moody, BC1192Aug 24, 2017
I actually have to edit my review, as I had given it 5/5 prior. This now gets a 1/5 from me.
The customer service at this dealership is an absolute joke. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new car.
Anthony Basile, however is an amazing salesman and I would give him 10/10. Should you need to purchase a car here... see Anthony, and then take it to a different dealer for any servicing... don't waste your time on WestCoast Mazda's servicing department.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My daughter purchased a 2017 Mazda 3 from West Coast Mazda and has taken her car there for servicing ever since. I went with her last month and ended up coming home with a 2020 Mazda CX-30. There was no pressure and i was very impressed with the whole process from sales to finance.

I purchased my Mazda at West Coast and still have it serviced here more than 7 years later. They are always fair, and never try to take advantage.

I've been to a lot of different dealerships over the years but these guys absolutely want to make sure you are happy and they go the extra mile.
I still service my car here even though there are closer places. Customer service is important and they know how to do it right here. - Lee S.Mission, BC051Jun 4, 2017
I recently purchased a vehicle at West Coast Mazda and the service was amazing! My salesman Aliahs was fantastic. He wasn't pushy, incredible knowledgeable about the vehicles, just a really genuine, hard working young man.
The car was washed and super clean when I picked it up.
Best experience buying a car i've ever had!

I'd give less than one star if I could.
Came in to get service done on my car, that I bought from Westcoast Mazda. Walk into the service department and there's two guys at the desk chatting to each other about tires. At no point did either of them look up to greet me in any way. Stood there awkwardly for 5 full minutes while they chatted. Finally one guy looks up at me and asks how I am and then begins to ask who I am and about my appointment. I find out that of the two completely rude people he guy that finally acknowledged me is the service manager!!! Can you believe it?! No wonder people in this department think this is ok! The service manager doesn't think he needs to greet paying customers. I guess this dealership doesn't need customers that bad. Wow! So professional! This is the last service I'll get done here. And my car is going on 8 years, was going to be trading up but definitely won't be at Westcoast Mazda.
On top of all of the above. The service manager forgot to tell the guy giving me a ride home (a service they offer) about me while he was chatting up one of the women that work here. Such professionalism!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gil L.Cottonwood, Maple Ridge, BC01Mar 19, 2019
Great Service provided - driving back to home and picking up to pick up vehicle after service done.
The Counter Staff helpful and not too busy when I arrived to drop off the car and to pick up. The tough part was paying for the work, expensive, but I knew that going in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stacy W.Maple Ridge, BC02Oct 18, 2017
We have purchased 4 vehicles (Toyota, Ford, Mazda X2) through West Coast Auto Group now and each time the sales and service has been on point. What I have noticed over the years is that car dealerships tend to treat women differently. Did you know that women either buy or influence 85% of all new car and truck purchases? So when I walk into one of the dealerships under this umbrella, I know that I too will receive a firm handshake, respect as a purchaser, and the opportunity to negotiate a deal either by myself or with my husband. This is why I continue to loyally shop with WCAG. Exceedingly personal customer service, ease of purchase, everything was top notch and I'm LOVING my new car after taking the buyback on my VW diesel through the emissions scandal! Wish I bought this car sooner!

This place is terrible! I took my car in for service and to find out about a CEL, on leaving their parking lot it stalled and I had to stop it with the parking brake. On identifying this problem to one of their Assistant Managers I was assured that the issue would be looked into and I would receive a call back.
The next day I had to call them 8 hours after they opened as I had not heard anything about my car. I was met with the most rude and condescending tone on the phone by their service department. They didn't know who I was, they didn't know why I was calling, and they told me flatly that there was nothing wrong with my car since the issue cannot be replicated. I should point out I have never asked for my money back for the terrible service I received, I merely want a vehicle that doesn't impede my safety or the safety of others.
My car was given back to me, and on the news that there was nothing wrong with it I took it out three days later. It stalled again - this time nearly causing a major accident!
I ended up taking it to another dealer to find out what the issue is. West Coast Mazda had cleared a P0455 code - check gas cap code - in clearing this code the dealer is also supposed to clear out any debris from the throttle body. I was advised that this issue is common, and it was clearly missed during the service, but most certainly should have been caught on looking at the vehicle again after reporting the stall in their parking lot.
I brought my concerns to their attention days ago and they haven't bothered addressing them. As I can't trust the work they do, I will never be bringing my vehicle to their service department again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lex S.Surrey, BC9019Dec 2, 2019
