About the Business
We specialize in Ramen. At Tsujita LA, we offer 3 different types broths which include tonkontsu(traditional pork broth) which includes thin ramen noodles with dried mushrooms, green onions, slices of pork, and seaweed. Vegetarian broth which contains a lighter broth, green onions, dried mushrooms and seaweed. Tsukemen(seafood and pork broth), our signature dish which has many people craving on a daily basis. This seafood and pork broth is a dipping style noodle; meaning our noodles and soup are separated. On top of our noodles contains 4 slices of pork(if you select that option), lime(s), and nori. Inside of our broth contains: marinated bamboo shoots, green onions chopped pieces of pork, and one seasoned egg. The broth is presented to our customers very hot and our noodles cold. Which after a few bites will presumably cool down the broth and make it warm. We recommend you get our traditional cold noodles but you can also ask for hot noodles. Our tsukemen noodles are thicker than the ramen noodles 2.5 mm…

Q:
How is the Vegan ramen?
A:
My roommate got it and liked it! Said it wasn't as heavy as the other ramen options!

I have never been here before and am dying to try! What should I order?
A:
The tsukemen! Can't go wrong w that! The first time I got it I dunked all my noodles in the soup - do not do that! It's meant to be dipped in.

9/24/2021Tsujita is located on a corner and always has people waiting to be seated! They don't currently take any reservations so be sure to find the clipboard to write your name down!
On a Sunday night, I was in a group of 5 and waited about an hour. It was so worth it though. The char siu tsukemen was bomb! The texture of the noodles were great and the dipping sauce was even great on its own. We also ordered the char siu ramen and tonkatsu ramen. Char siu ramen had good flavors but wished they used the same noodles for the the tsukemen. The tonkatsu ramen was on the menu outside but not on the menu we were given on the inside btw.
My recommendation is if you know it's gonna be a long ass wait, turn the corner to Somi Somi for dessert before dinner. The line there moves more quickly.
Parking is a bitch to find in the area but it's totally worth it.
10/10 would totally come back just to have the tsukemen again. - Jason H.Los Angeles, United States921
9/22/2021One of my all time favorite restaurants ever and the gold standard for ramen/tsukemen. And yes - I have in fact been to Japan before but I still stand by my claim that Tsujita is truly on another level.
If I had to make a list of reasons for why college was "the best 4 years of my life", being a few miles away from this place would be near the top of that list. - 525245197
9/14/2021SOOO GOOOOOD! Char siu tsukemen hands down best I've ever had. Char siu (pork belly) was perfect - soft and tender and juice and fatty. The soup was so savory with a bit of salt but perfect ratio! A bit on the thicker side which was new but I liked it! Love that they put pork in the soup too. The thickness of the noodles is also very unique whereas other places use the thin hard/soft/medium traditional noodles. I def like these type of noodles more!!
Next time I have to try the tonkotsu!!
Service - it's always busy here I get it but the workers looked miserable and it was hard to ask for things because we would get attitude and service was slow. Food itself came out quick though which is great!
Ambiance - we sat outside next to street so it can get loud! Also super small and busy so expect a wait - 671544
9/8/20211 check-inI heard incredible things about Tsujita for the past 3 years as a UCLA student and was excited to finally go with a friend to try it! We got there around 5:30 and were able to easily find a table since it wasn't very busy yet in Sawtelle. The server was really quick at getting us situated and was kind enough to guide us through the menu since it was both of our first times coming. We both ordered the dipping noodles since the server told us that was what Tsujita was known for! He shared that the noodles were cold and the broth would be boiling hot. He also said the broth took 60 hours to prepare and was very rich. And the broth was very rich indeed.
The food came out very quickly but unlike what the server said, the broth was not very hot. I was shocked by how thick and oily the broth was. It was extremely savory, but it was too heavy for my liking and since it was cold, the oil was starting to separate and made my stomach hurt after. If the broth was warmer, it would have tasted better and not felt as oily and heavy.
A good thing about this place is that the servings are huge!! I ordered a regular but there were so many noodles that I had enough left for tomorrow's lunch. The large serving size justified the price (a bowl of ramen ranged from about $14 - $19 depending on the topping and size) and I loved the ramen egg!! The dipping noodles were a unique experience but I think it's a once in long while type of meal because eating less than half of the ramen left me feeling very heavy and bloated. - 48117121
9/19/2021I read about Tsujita from multiple Reddit posts and lots of videos and I'm kind of disappointed it didn't really live up to the hype. I never knew that there was a type of ramen that required dipping the noodles into a kind of sauce, so it was cool trying that for the first time. The general consensus with my party was that it's a decent ramen place, but the dipping sauce had too much flavor and made it kind of difficult to finish. The portions are pretty large though, so you get your money's worth. I ordered the spicy tuna bowl and for about $6, it's a good price. The spicy tuna was soft and the rice was seasoned a bit so it tasted fine. But in the end, it's just spicy tuna and rice.

8/15/2021Ordered the large basic tsukemen and there was definitely enough left for me to take some home as another meal. Great tsukemen- the noodles were divine. I wasn't sure if the broth was supposed to be hot. It was Luke warm. Btw the large seemed liked it had just a larger portion of noodles but same amount of broth as the regular portion. Great value for just a dollar more.
We came on a Sunday around the time they opened and got seated pretty immediately for a party of 4. Glad we got to sit inside bc outside was very hot. - 33334154
8/7/20211 check-inCame here on a Saturday night and saw the huge line of people waiting outside and feared we were going to be waiting for 2 hours but it ended up only being 45 min. They take your order as you're waiting on line and also aggressively cross people off the waiting list if you're not there when they call you.
We were a family of 6 and all of us ordered the tsukemen large. Why would anyone order regular when it's only $1 cheaper. Also their noodles are really good - really al dente, very smooth texture, and soaks up the broth really well.
Also the key is to drop the noodles into the broth (do not pour the broth into the bowl of noodles) and let it soak up the broth. Speaking of the broth, it's so thick and delicious, it's almost like pasta sauce - I wish I can just buy boatload of the broth and dip pasta, noodles, whatever in it all the time. However, my one gripe is that the broth came kind of lukewarm and before I even got halfway through the noodles, my broth has become cold so I was essentially eating cold noodles for half of the time.
Overall I really liked the experience - it's definitely the first time I've had dipping noodles. It was also good portions and flavor for the price. I just wish their broth came hotter and the wait wasn't that long. - 1976042170
9/12/2021I'd wanted to come to Tsujita for a long time, ever since they opened their sister restaurant, TabeTomo in NYC. TabeTomo was one of my favorite ramen restaurants in NYC, and I thought the original ramen place in LA would be as good or even better.
I came to Tsujita on a Monday night for dinner with a friend. We came at 5:30pm, so there was no line and we got seats immediately. They have a small outdoor dining area which we were seated in.
After being seated, we were brought water and menus immediately. Tsujita is well known as one of the best ramen places in LA, and this particular restaurant is best known for its tsukemen, which is a style of ramen in which you dip the noodles into broth in a separate bowl.
My friend and I both got the tsukemen. I got the basic tsukemen, which was broth with green onion and thick noodles. My friend also got the tsukemen, but got the charsiu tsukemen, which had slices of pork in it. Both our dishes were served quickly after ordering.
While I'm a big fan of TabeTomo in NYC, I felt Tsujita was lacking a certain something that would have made them really delicious. For the most part, they were fine. The noodles were thick and chewy, just as tsukemen noodles should be, but the broth needed something extra.
I may come back here if I have a tsukemen craving, but I do think TabeTomo is much better. - Donna S.Los Angeles, United States15057356
9/4/2021BEST RAMEN IN LA. I love Tsujita, and I think it's better than Tsujita Annex. The tsukemen ramen is a must-try- it's basically "dipping ramen." If it's your first time, get the Charsiu Tsukemen. The broth is a delicious thick consistency (kind of like a curry or stew), and the Charsiu comes with egg and pork. It comes with cold noodles, though you can request them hot. Simply squeeze some lime on your noodles, dip your noodles in the broth,
and enjoy.
Tsujita will get packed but wow, they are so good at managing the crowd. You put your name down on a paper waitlist at the front and wait for your name to be called. When your table is almost ready, a host/hostess will ask for your order in advance. When you get seated, they bring out your food and drinks immediately because they took your order while you were waiting- very efficient! They also have more tables now that they have a cute outdoor dining area.
Parking can be tough, but I found some blocks in the residential area where I can park for free (about 3 blocks west of the restaurant). - 264180303
8/1/20211 check-inFinally had the chance to try out the infamous TSUJITA LA!
Drove half an hour, found free parking a few blocks away, and got seated within the 10 minutes we put our name on the waitlist (probably because it was about 2-3PM on a Monday afternoon)
Of course we ordered the charsiu tsukemen (signature dipping ramen) which included a whole lotta noodles, the fatty soup broth, 3 pieces of FATTY charsiu, 1 soft-boiled egg, lime, and seaweed. Come with a big appetite or else you're not finishing hue they pack their noodles! I loved how the lime was so acidic to cut off that fatty soup flavor and help me consume the rest LOL the charsiu was too fatty for me but that egg thooo she was delicious yum
I'd definitely recommend eating right away whether you eat inside or outside the restaurant because it can get cold so quickly. But this happens anytime I eat tsukemen anywhere. I usually get tired of dipping the ramen repeatedly, which is why I don't eat this dish that often -- but it's fun don't get me wrong. And service was amazing everyone was super nice!
