I have been going to the Griswold Inn since I was little. I have very fond memories of the music, the history and the food, all being fun and quality. I had dinner recently, after 30 years, and it was awful. I am so disappointed. It's like seeing your favorite band you remember in high school and then seeing them in your adult life and they have lost their voices. This is a location steeped in history and a tremendous opportunity to bring in a chef with fresh ideas and a belief in farm fresh food. Heritage food to a historic site. Bring in a bar menu that appreciates creativity in mixology. For now, just go for the music, the history, the photo opportunity but skip the rest, your wallet will appreciate it. What a lost opportunity, I hope they find themselves again.

This is a fun, cool place! We stayed here after a funeral in Ct. We were having problems with the toilet in our bath but the Innkeeper immediately took care of it and upgraded our stay! The restaurant is filled with beautiful artwork and sea memorabilia. Dinner was a Reuben sandwich, and the fish and chips. Everything was good, hot and the hospitality was comforting and much appreciated. Put this on your bucket list of Inns to see and do!

This was the first time as we were there with friends for lunch. As you walk into the Inn you go back in time. The staff and our server Allie were Superb! The attention to detail in the service matched the outstanding tasty gourmet food. I can't wait to bring our military family there.

Whip the vibe of the restaurant is fun, the food was less than acceptable for the price. The sausage sampler sold with braised cabbage was four bites of meat and a dollop of cabbage under mustard. My Cobb Salad came with Bacon Bits instead of bacon. We laughed it was so pathetic. Our waitress was very sweet. Go for a beer or f you want to check it out. Don't order the food.

My mother and I came here for lunch and were shocked at how well preserved the building was. It's truly historical and there is something to look at around every corner. It's very relaxing and cozy. The food was alright but the drinks are even better.
The customer service was above 5 stars. I will be coming back it was a great experience and time

Worth stopping it purely for the history and paintings! Good food, to be honest, not worth the price they charge, but solid. Service is very good, just not what you'd expect for fine dining. Come on Monday night and enjoy some sea chanties after your meal!

Had dinner here and was surprised at the lower ratings we had seen! It was a super fun atmosphere and the food was above average. Service was great too. Really enjoyed it!

The music is what makes this place in my opinion. The food has gotten so much worse and the manager gets very defensive when questioned about food quality. He has poor customer service skills. Prob best to eat elsewhere and then go hear the bands.

One of the oldest continuously operated inns in the country (opened for business in 1776), with a dining room that is decorated in an old fashion way.

Every Sunday the place has a buffet that they call "Hunt Breakfast".

In December the menu includes seasonal game selections, the waitstaff is costumed, and the Royal Court Singers perform seasonal classics table-side

I came for lunch and got the clam chowder and chicken tacos. Both were delicious. Complimentary bread and butter was tasty as well

Service was fast and waitress was friendly

Nice menu and ambiance. Entrees are on the pricey side. Had clam chowder- a little spicy, unique flavor. Corned beef Rueben was excellent. The maritime decor gives it a New England feel. Reservations are suggested, it gets busy.
