This cute little grill was situated in Landsdowne and this place is normally super lively in the evening but super quiet during the day which is always great for a quick breakfast . We opted to sit on the terrasse area which was set up by the window and has barcode scan menus which is great ! The staff was amazingly chirpy and I loved that . The food was amazing and simple too which is always great if you're not trying to have a huge meal .
The reason for which I put it 3 stars is because of the following : it took almost 40 minutes to get the food out which would have made sense if it was busy but we were the newest table and there were only 2 others. Also the window that we sat by was a bit dusty ( to be expected since it's outdoors) but normally you would clean it every so often during or before a service .
Covid friendly : hand sanitizer available , indoor and outdoor seating , masks on staff , scan bar codes , hygienic .Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole L.Gatineau, QCNov 4, 2019
Seen as most breakfast places give you a cut up omelette when you order scrambled eggs, I was thrilled to actually get the real thing!
Everything was good, including the service but my fruit salad was 95 percent melon with a few token strawberries on top so they lose a star for that.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Sunset Grill Restaurants - _Silent ..Centretown, Ottawa, ON01629Feb 6, 2020Updated review
They have great staff and good water. Oh and salt and pepper. The eggs are unseasoned and dry. The hashbrowns are just warm squares of potatoes and the pancakes were doughy and stuck to the room of your mouth.
Once again I must say that the staff was amazing.
But the food is the point of going. It wasn't bad enough to send back but it was unexpected from a breakfast place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello. We're sorry to hear that you did not thoroughly enjoy your dining experience with us. Sunset Grill prides itself on serving great tasting, fresh food to our customers, we're sorry we fell short of your expectations. It is customary at Sunset Grill that our servers offer an apology and another meal right away or to remove the meal from your bill, if you had an issue with your food. Our Franchise Owners/Managers are always available to address any additional concerns if a matter is escalated or is in need of further attention. We will address your concerns with our staff and work to ensure this doesn't happen again. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Sunset Grill RestaurantsFeb 4, 2020Previous reviewI've never had a bad breakfast until now. They have great staff and good water. Oh and salt and pepper. The eggs are unseasoned and dry beyond belief. The hashbrowns are just warm squares of potatoes and the pancakes were doughy and stuck to the room of your mouth.
Once again I must say that the staff was amazing.
But the food is the point of going and it's sub par.
The bacon was also unique tasting. - Ted K.Ottawa, ON060Jun 15, 2022
Went to Landsdowne branch of Sunset grill ordered Eggs Benedict and a can of coke Time about 1pm restaurant one third filled
Twenty minutes later no food although others around me were eating away although ordering either at the same time or later What makes it worse is a lovely picture of eggs Benedict in front of me with lovely poached eggs
Finally got server's attention and said delay was a mix up in kitchen would be out soon Food came and I was very disappointed to see that 2 eggs were fried over easy (runny) Asked why not poached and told that is the way they do it Eggs Benedict means to me poached So using fried eggs on a muffin with a bit of sauce costs more than two fried eggs and toast plus misusing the name
After the long wait and now poor food I left Too bad another formerly good spot has fallen so badHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Ted, We’re sorry you were disappointed with the service and your meal. The Eggs Benedict dishes on our menu are made with three eggs over easy, on English muffins topped with Hollandaise sauce and other core ingredients depending on the dish. Poached eggs can be served on request. We understand we can’t please everyone; however, we hope that you’ll give us another chance in the future.
Take care,

Would mark it zero if I could. There are many Sunset Grills West of GTA & been to them many times with generally good experience. But NOT this Ottawa location. This is my experience (horrible experience) with this Sunset Grill:
Service: horrible.
Food quality, accuracy and preparation time: Terrible, can not get it right
Price: not worth it at all. Way more expensive than GTA Sunset Grills.
Management: Sucks. No mature manager there, just some kids running around.
Will I go there again: Never.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marlise S.Ottawa, ON2230Dec 27, 2020
Excellent food and service. Location has parking underground. Yummy coffee, eggs, and omelettes. Staff goes above and beyond for their guests. Well priced. Great quality.

We came in at about 2:30 pm a Sunday for all day breakfast. Hubby ordered corned beef hash and eggs. I tried to order the smoked salmon plate however they were out of salmon. Ok. I'll have toast and jam, dark eye please. Out. Grrrr. I appreciate being told of outages before I make up my mind about what I want to order, thank you.
Breakfast arrived. My toast was toasty. Hubby thought his breakfast was "fine" and noted it was all a bit overcooked.
Customer service wise they did well. Cheerful greeting with quick seating and good follow-up, so good job there!
Decor is light and cheerful without being overdone.
Would I return? Maybe.
Would I recommend? If you are at Lansdowne this is a good option for breakfast.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer Mae B.Ottawa, ON3663837Jun 10, 2015First to Review
Loved the food, loved the decor, loved the service!
We went for the weekday breakfast, and man oh man....do you get your money's worth!
3 small eggs, thick toast, crispy bacon and home fries...we were all SO full when we left!
Also, the owner was there as we were paying....very nice man!
We will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Marc Olivier D.Montreal, QC161115Feb 8, 2017
Best place in the area for breakfast! Atmosphere is great, service is perfect. The only drawback is the smell of oil from the fryer. The oily smell stayed on my clothes for two days.
