I like Goings BBQ. The atmosphere was clean, the cashier was friendly and the food was great. They give you huge portions.
Random need of BBQ for the family Just driving by and stopped Nice clean image Drive through Down side Food is sub par and price is high Staff is nice register women seemed to be having a bad day and was short with the wife. Lacking condiments on the salad bar tables were dirty
Food is tough, overly salted, poor smoke flavor, and food is dry. The sides taste like frozen stiffer! I would give a zero if I could!
Previous review was deleted due to lack of details. Due to a rain out at Royal Purple drag strip we decided to visit relatives in Huffman. On the way thought we'd stop here, never again. At first glace the place seemed reasonable. The brisket had a burned plastic taste masked by salt. Sides tasted like everything else from Sysco. We decided not to finish the meals, chalk it up to experience. As we were walking out we discovered a cockroach on the wall and felt our departure was correct & totally justified.
They hang up on people and are ridiculously rude to paying customers. I was tricked once because I asked if they would deliver for 5 orders and they said to call at 9 when they closed so that they could make our orders specially for us. What an idiot I was for believing that but seriously do they really have that many customers for them to be able to treat others like that?
Yuck, bad food, worse staff. Not worth it and very greasy. We used to eat here some before off the road opened. It's. a typical sloppy cheap food joint. It's always open but don't find their food that tasty.
Never again. One star because I had to, but mainly because they provided extra napkins to spit the inedible food in to. Brisket had no smoke flavor, no smoke ring, no smoke smell at all. Unsure salt and pepper were even used as seasoning. Sauce was store bought, thinned with vinegar. Onion rings were from the frozen section, refried in to one clump.
This was the first time I ate at the restaurant. It will also be the LAST time. We were there about 13:00, so there were not many people there. My 84 year old Grandmother was with us and she uses a walker. When I saw the menu on the wall, I knew she wouldn't be able to stand there and go over all the items to find what she wanted. So, I asked a man who worked there if we could sit down and have menus brought out to us and then I could get hers for her. He said something to the guy behind the counter that was cutting the meat, I couldn't understand what he said, but the guy threw down his knives, wiped his hands on his apron and came around the counter and pointed up to the menu on the wall and angrily said "The menu is right there!". So, I said "Yes, I can see that." The other guy put his hands up and said "I can get you a menu and bring it to the table." Am I missing something? Isn't that what I asked for in the first place? On to the food...I had to order mine and my Grandmother's food. They made me keep repeating each piece of each order. This is a Luby's style restaurant; you go through a line with a tray and say what you want. When we finally got to the register, I asked the woman who checked us out if bread came with my meal. She nodded, with NO verbal communication and continued checking us out. I had to ask for my bread two more times and each time I did she gave me an unpleasant look. The meal was over $44 for only three, yes that is 3, people. IN A BAR-B-QUE PLACE! While eating, the guy who gave us the menu did ask us if the food tasted ok. I lied and just shook my head yes. I got the 2 meat dinner with spicy sausage, sliced brisket, fried okra and green beans. The sausage was NOT spicy and the brisket was VERY dry. The fried okra was stone cold, which made the breading mushy and the green beans were from a can. I did finally receive my rolls, which were cold. There was no butter on the condiments bar. So, I had to ask the woman who checked us out for butter; again, unpleasant look. When leaving, we needed to-go boxes and cups. Again, the woman behind the counter acted as though she was extremely put out to do this for us. My advice is this: avoid this place like the plague! They weren't just having a bad day, which happens to most of us; I felt as though this was their permanent attitude.
Sub-par food. It's likely I won't go back. The staff was nice though.
Food was below average ,price was above average, and I seen roaches crawling up the wall
Baked potato was good, but it was DAMN pricey... The service leaves a lot to be desired.... but it is what it is...
The BBQ is OK and the Hamburger Steak is alright but they have a difficult time getting take out orders correct. They almost always get our order wrong in some way. This definitely reduces our desire to eat there more often. It bothers me that they will NOT stock soft drinks to go with their to go orders (Canned or bottled drinks). Transporting drinks with ice is a pain.....
Really love Goings BBQ. My family favorites are bbq, sausage, mac-n-cheese, and baked potatoes. No complaints and their new location has a drive-thru!
Its OK... nothing to write home about, will get you over a craving for BBQ, but will never crave this BBQ in particular.
