Extremely great experience. Perfect service and fresh rice bowl / hot pots. The appetizers of sliced beef in chili oil with peanuts was surprisingly good( surprising because beef was cold a served cold). Also the salted chicken app was good. Maybe needed some sauce?!
Will return soon. Check out picsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 13, 2023
The perfect spot for some homey soupy noodles! I really love that the noodles are served separately so that they don't get too bloated or soggy and you can wait for everything to cool down a bit before you add it in (because these bowls come out steaming hot!)
The broth itself is so rich without being too salty or oily that it's honestly quite refreshing. And it doesn't look like much, but there's a decent amount of variety in the other toppings and it all comes out to be pretty filling. My personal favorites were the quail egg and fish tofu.
I also really liked how the menu showed pictures of almost everything, which really helped the decision making process, but I wish there was an option to customize bowls because I loved the broth from A4 and the meat from A5.
I've seen so many reviews on here raving about the boba, but I thought it was just okay. We got the fresh honeydew melon yakult and the flavor was a bit too strong for me. (To the point that I was heavily questioning if there was artificial honeydew flavoring, honestly there probably was) But I did like the fresh chunks of honeydew at the bottom.
But I would definitely come back! Especially to try some desserts and appetizers, and maybe another boba that I might like more.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 17, 2022
Dagu Rice Noodle is located in the AsiaTown area of Cleveland. Their novelty experience is the Crossing the Bridge noodles.
Back in the Yunnan Province of China, a scholar was studying on an island for an imperial exam to become an official. His wife would have to cross the bridge to bring him his meals. She found that the noodles would get soggy by the time she got it to him, so she decided to separate all of the ingredients and not mix them until she arrived. What a nice wife! Right? She's so innovative she should become an official.
Anyways, the meals here has the broth, noodles and contents separated similarly to mirror the story.
My friend had the B5 meal ($13.99) which is the sour and spicy flavored crossing the bridge rice noodle soup with beef slices. I had the B3 meal ($13.99) which is the tomato flavored crossing the bridge rice noodle soup with beef slices. The little mini dishes that comes with the meal includes, lettuce, crab stick, chives, ground meat, minced pickled cabbage, ham, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushroom, corn, quail egg and fish tofu. The presentation is definitely fun to look at.
Just FYI - if you order their food via a food delivery service I heard that everything is already combined. So enjoy your meal at the restaurant if you like the presentation.
It was a tasty fun meal, very good for Cleveland. I believe this is a chain restaurant that originated in China. I really liked the tomato broth that my meal came with. I liked the thick rice noodle it came with (compared to the thinner ones). The toppings were fun but a minimal amount of each.
Easily a 5 star for Cleveland since there isn't much of any other options, but it would be more of a 4 star in LA/OC. The quality of the ingredients were on the lower end with it mostly being frozen product that thawed when you threw it in the hot soup. Nevertheless a decent meal and much needed warmth on a cold day.Helpful 56Thanks 0Love this 57Oh no 0 - Oct 7, 2023
a popular chain for crossing the road noodles, noodle soups, appetizers, boba, and dessert. a nondescript building but free parking and not very busy. lots of indoor seating. service was friendly and fast. reasonable prices.
// A1 signature rice noodle soup with braised bone-in pork ($13.99) //
big portion of noodle soup. rice noodles were thin and chewy. bone-in pork was big but mostly bone and was really difficult to get the meat off. therefore, we had to eat the meat on the side. would have been better if it was tender and could fall off into the rest of the dish.
my mistake for not ordering a spicy dish so not taking a star off, but i personally thought this dish lacked a lot of flavor. the broth was very simple and the meat did not have much extra flavor. my mom is sensitive to spice which is why we ordered this, otherwise i think i would have enjoyed the spicier noodle soups much more. for what it is, it was as expected though, hence why i will give it four stars.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 25, 2022
If you are looking for hot soup then I recommend Dagu Rice Noodle. I visited for dinner with a friend from church, Anita, in the middle of May 2022. It was a rainy evening and a bit cold so soup was the answer to warm me up.
FOOD -- They have a fairly large menu with different kinds of soups. I ordered the "Spicy Flavoured Crossing the Bridge, Rice Noodle Soup" (with beef) which is listed as "B2" on the menu. At a price of $11.99, it is a great value for the large amount of soup that you get. I love spicy foods in general but this soup is definitely more spicy than average but for me, it wasn't too spicy. If you don't like spicy or hot foods then I would not recommend this B2 soup. The menu had 2 spice symbols next to it which translated to the level of spiciness.
The B2 listed soup comes in a wide and large bowl with a VERY hot soup base already inside (water with seasoning). All the ingredients to add to the soup come on the side including for me, raw beef, or your side of meat. I then had to cook the beef in the hot bowl first then I added the other cold toppings such as the noodles, corn, scallions, etc. The other meat options are lamb, shrimp, or meatballs. The soups can also be made vegetarian.
INSIDE -- This is a small Asian restaurant with limited seating so the earlier you can arrive, the better. My friend and I came just before the dinner rush so we got lucky and were seated right away; however, we did wait in our seats for about 15 mins before our food arrived.
I can't wait to return to try other soups and non-soup dishes such as perhaps a rice dish.

Brought my parents to Dagu when they visited Cleveland. My parents are usually very particular about restaurant food, especially Chinese food, but they LOVED it.
I ordered a crossing the bridge rice noodle soup with a kimchi base. For the "B" menu items, all your noodles/dishes come separately on a platter and you add them to the soup yourself. This was a fun and aesthetically pleasing experience.
All the rice soup noodles come with a big cauldron of boiling soup. Though Dagu offers other menu items, I would definitely recommend getting a rice soup noodle since that's what they're known for. Their soup bases are all rich and well-flavored.
Would definitely come back with friends!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Chrissy T.Cleveland, United StatesJun 9, 2023Updated review
Haven't had the noodles but obsessed with the boba! Have been here multiple times and it's my fave place for the different boba options. Will be back to try the noodles. All of the staff is super friendly.

Dagu is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland. Hands-down, they have the best bubble tea in Cleveland. I think I've tried over a dozen of the bubble teas on the menu, and I've basically liked every single one. The only exception to that is the passion fruit one, because I did not enjoy the fact that they were actual seeds in it. I also enjoy the other toppings that they have aside from boba, and have recently found myself gravitating towards the milk tea pudding and crystal boba.
I was finally able to try their noodles with my family when they were in town. I had the B3 tomato flavored crossing the bridge rice noodle soup with beef slices. It was definitely a really fun and unique experience of adding the toppings and the noodles into the hot soup. I got the tomato soup because I had the absolute best knife cut tomato and egg noodles when I was in Shanghai, and I was looking for something to re-create that experience. While it's not quite the same and I do wish it had egg, it was very delicious and filling.
My dad had the A2 pickled cabbage rice noodle soup with fish slices, which was scrumptious, and my sister wanted to bring the broth home. We also had the A1 signature rice noodle soup with braised bone in pork, which was good as well. The bang bang chicken was a little bit disappointing. It wasn't what my mother was expecting, I think she thought it was going to be fried and crispy. Nevertheless, it still was seasoned well and yummy.
I've tried a variety of their side dishes and really enjoyed all of them. I would definitely recommend the sliced bamboo shoots, the tossed diced cucumber with garlic sauce, the salty crispy chicken, and the crispy chicken cutlet. The fried fish tofu was just OK.
My family aren't typically big on dessert, but we saw lots of people ordering the frosty jelly, and we figured we should give it a try. I've never had anything like this before, and it's not quite like shaved ice. It is absolutely heavenly. The texture of the jelly is so unique, and the toppings really were all incredible. I would absolutely recommend getting this dessert.
You can absolutely guarantee that I will be back at Dagu. Eventually I'm sure I will have tried most of the menu!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy L.Kent, United StatesJun 25, 2023
1. The noodle soup tasted of dish soap, possibly from the big plastic dog bowls it comes in.
2. They couldn't adjust the spiciness of a dish, so if you can't eat spicy food, or pork, or tomato-based food, there won't really be much to choose from. Which is probably just as well. (See 1)
3. The boba drinks were really really really sweet.
4. There are only six tables. It was loud and very very casual, like eating at a fast food restaurantHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rachel R.Oberlin, United States03646Apr 19, 2024
I love this restaurant and have been here several times, but it seems to be closed now. I'd love to know why?! The food here was food I can't get anywhere else - so many amazing bubble tea options, and they put plastic handles on the cups so you can carry them vertically for takeout! The bang bang chicken was famous (if the menus is to be believed) and they had all sorts of hot-pot like meals. I really miss this place, and even writing about how good it was is making me sad. They had interesting appetizer options, I didn't get to try nearly enough. And the soup seemed to always have a quail egg in it which I found so fun! Ugh I miss you Dagu Rice Noodle!!
