Q:
They are closed ? I past by and it looks like this building is going to be renovated. Are they moving locations?
A:
Yes they are now permanently closed and it doesn't look like they have any plans on reopening somewhere else for now. The building is being turned into a condominium.

9/14/20211 check-inI'm so glad I checked to see if Bonjuk's new location opened! Yelp has already updated the location and I love the new area (plenty of free parking and lots of outdoor dining spaces as it's located on the rooftop level). When I found out they reopened, I immediately changed my dinner plans to eat here.
Tip: Park on Level P3 so you don't have to climb 3 flights of stairs to the get to Bonjuk.
ORDER THE OCTOPUS KIMCHI PORRIDGE! They give you huge chunks of octopus and it's seriously worth the price since you get a giant bowl of porridge! Side dishes are the usual radish water kimchi (non-spicy, tangy and refreshing), kimchi, and soy sauce braised beef.
Like many other loyal customers, I was yearning for their porridge all of 2020 and I was devastated when their stand-alone restaurant closed last year. I'm so happy that Bonjuk is still in business post-pandemic. I can confirm that their food is just as delicious as it was in the past, I even converted some friends to becoming Bonjuk fanatics! You won't be disappointed coming back here. - 3974697
9/2/2021FYI they moved locations to the food court in California Market!
Address: 450 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90020
This location is definitely an upgrade from their previous location since parking is free and plentiful now.
For those who don't know, juk is Korean porridge and is a staple in every Korean's life. My mom would always give me juk when I was sick and not feeling well. Bonjuk takes that home-made taste and elevates it to another level. So far, I've tried their Samge (chicken) juk as well as their Seafood Combo juk.
Samge juk (10/10):
Samge juk is very hearty and soul warming. It comes with a lot of chicken and huge portions. This one is definitely my go-to and would recommend.
Seafood Combo (9/10):
If you're more into seafood, I would recommend getting the Seafood Combo. When I eat this, it feels like I've been transported to a seaside village in Busan. The juk doesn't taste or smell fishy at all and has a very clean taste. - 186176300
7/18/2021I'm so glad they didn't close BonJuk because they used to be located next to BCD on Wilshire but that plaza closed down. They are now on the third floor food court at California Market on 5th and Western.
I ordered the Sweet Pumpkin Porridge and the Samgae Chicken Porridge. They gave a set of side dishes per porridge and they were all so good. This place is perfect for those who want a hearty Korean home meal! - Mike K.Los Angeles, United States0564
6/23/2021I had the Samge (chicken) juk. It was excellent, like when Bon Juk was a sit down restaurant on Wilshire and not a food court restaurant. Pro-tip: ask for a spoon and little bit of salt, and combine a little of the spicy banchan with each bite. You're welcome. That is the review part of this comment.
The main reason I am posting this review is to say and prove that the location of this business is incorrect. They have moved from the Wilshire location to the Food Court on the rooftop of California Market on 450 S Western Ave. I am posting a picture proving it.
To Yelp: take a look at this proof and change the location. Also, it is NOT closed. Change that in the title. Do your job. - 10217169
9/22/2020Great Korean porridge stop! I didn't know what this shop was about until a co worker had me try it. The flavor is really good and light. I had the chicken one and it came with these cute little side bites. Each one had a flavor and style of its own that i practically blacked out from eating away as my palette changed with each side.
If you're looking for a watery congee-like snack, note that this is not the style. But it's really a great alternative if you're in the mood for porridge. Can't wait to try more flavors soon! - 34132200
1/5/20214 check-insSo...literally drove 30 minutes just now to get some juk from here bc yelp and Google said they're open, only to find out they've been closed since December 31 when I got to the storefront...I called multiple times while driving to order ahead but their phone line wasn't working, which should've been the first clue that they were closed. Anyways, see picture I attached with this review. That's the sign on their door as of January 5, 2021. It says they will open at a new location.

1/3/2021I grew up with Chinese style congees which are similar to juk but this is the first time I tried Korean juk. And I gotta say, it was So dang good!
The kimchi octopus was amazing and I'll definitely be reordering. I also had the mushroom oyster which was delicious too! This is exactly what I'd want if I'm ever sick or feelin the need for some comfort food - 3275938
1/23/2021I had just taken out my wisdom tooth and the only thing I could eat was soft food. I yelped and this place was only minutes from my place!
This porridge was rich with flavor! And it was packed with bite size veggies and chicken! They give you a hefty portion size as well. My belly was super happy after that meal. I want to do back and try out the other flavors soon bc I heard they were delicious! - Sam R.Mid Wilshire, Los Angeles, United States54241
6/20/2021Updated reviewI just want to inform people that Bon Juk has relocated inside the California Market Food Court on the corner of Western and 5th Street. Found it by chance the other day an am very happy.
7/13/2019Previous reviewThis is great place for breakfast or when you are feeling unwell and need something to soothe you. I really, really like this place!

1/21/2020THE BEST PLACE TO GET JUK!
Great for sickness, hangovers, or just any day you crave porridge.
They have a lot of variety but tthe chicken porridge is my go-to. Love that there's different textures in the porridge with perfectly cooked vegetables (and I mean it when I say perfectly cooked veggies) there's texture, texture is very important. Not only that theirs flavor, yyou can just tell they make their own stocks and everything is in-house.
My boyfriend always orders the abalone which he absolutely loves it!
It coMes with unique ban Chan which I'm not quite sure what it is exactlY but it's red and salty you add that and tthe beef w/ some sauce in your juk and mix it together. Your life will be changed haha maybe not but you'll love it!
