We had a frustrating experience tonight. First we expected to get our menus much sooner, and had to ask for them. Once we ordered, we saw people seated after us who got their food before us. After asking for some more tea (twice) and having it rudely delivered to us (freshly boiled, the waiter snidely reassured us), then my grumbling about the food not being served (and told that they were busy in a half-full small restaurant) we got our order. Right then we were told that one of the appetizers we ordered was not available "tonight", this after we had received part of our entrée. My tablemate reports that the roll she received was sloppily assembled.

After receiving the bill, and signing the credit card statement, the waitress informed me that we were mistakenly charged for the portion we ordered that wasn't even available! After three attempts to communicate this did I finally agree to manually change my own signed receipt. At least they gave us cash change.

Based on experience with other Vancouver Japanese restaurants, we expected quicker, friendlier service, and even on an incorrect bill, we expected a more organized approach. Our expectations were not at all met.
