I'm planning my trip on Google Earth/Maps. I checkout the
highway between the North Shore and Waikiki. It looks
like a snake pit. Very intimidating. I held on tight on the
steering wheel the entire way.

I enjoy Hawaiian music. After a tough day at work it helps me
unwind and put a little "Aloha" back into my life. I really
enjoy slack key guitar, a style invented on the Big Island.

A walk after supper along the river valley on a cool summer night
is so enjoyable. The path is well maintained as you see the sights
of the city and river.

The museum is not nearby the other major attractions in the province,
so some trip planning will be necessary to get here. And it is worth it.
Driving through the badlands is interesting in it's own right.
You'll see 11 well prepared exhibits of the dinosaurs.
There is also a gift shop.
I have never heard a negative word about the museum.

I had only 4 hours to spend here, not enough time to cover all the extensive
exhibits. If time is short for you I suggest going to the website and pick
out the things you definitely want to see when you arrive at the zoo.
The zoo is not a cheap family outing but you do get your money's worth.
Highly recommend, especially for kids.

I remember a long time ago when the name was Husky Tower. I also remember the time when I spotted my car being towed away while I was on the observation deck.
There is a gift shop and telescopes at the top.

This statue is located on Kalakaua Avenue across from the
zoo/Starbuck's corner. Makua and Kila are characters in a
children's book by surfing legend Fred Van Dyke.

This statue is located across from St. Augustine Church on
Kalakaua Avenue. The Prince is wearing a business suit with
a feather cape ( reference to royalty ) and in his hands are a scroll
( reference to his contributions to Hawaii ). This statue was
dedicated in 2002.

A great spot to rest before continuing on the climb up to the Big Beehive.
