GOOD LORD. The bowl you get is enormous - of gargantuous, non-human proportions. Even if I was to climb all three Vancouver-bordering mountains and eat two grapes for breakfast, I still wouldn't be able to finish it. Oh, it was good - FOR A WHILE. But unlike most things that were good for a while before, this was good for way too long. It's like a great experience that just will not end. You start getting dizzy and time begins to shift. How long have you been there? Aren't you usually done a bowl of soup by now?
It's hard being objective and saying that stopping yourself is impossible - but I didn't want to offend the cooks by not finishing... It's almost never happened before, but before I knew it, I ate too much and was left quite suddenly at the point of no return.
It bears repeating - my fatty, porky miso was superb, though my friend's lean one was a bit underwhelming. It was the best ramen I've ever had, but it also led to me to my most turbulent struggle dining out thus far. Seriously, I could barely walk.
Unless you're OK with leaving quite a lot left over, it's too much, and because of the high volume of customers they don't really like to give these out to take home... I tried doing that and it was pretty awkward to do - had to spoon/pour the soup out myself over the table. I point no fingers - I realize how busy they are. In fact, I'll stop there and not even try to rack my brain to figure out how this place can possibly hold all the necessary food to keep all the customers satisfied. Some things man is not meant to know.
So my advice to you, dear reader is this. If this is the day where four of your friends got the bright idea to all fit under one coat as if a disfigured, hunchbacked giant out to raid some unwitting restaurant and are sitting in a tiny internet cafe on some poor chair about to crack, worry not, you will all be fed here, you may depart. Good luck getting through the door though...

Hey guys, this is my first review on Yelp!
A great place to get some quick sushi for lunch, especially if you go to SFU is Sushi Kaku. This place is very close to my house, and conveniently enough, it's one of my favourite places to get sushi. It's right beside Productian Way Skytrain - literally on the same strip as the station. It's a family business run by the owner, his wife and I believe one or two helpers.
The prices are pretty cheap, and their green salad is the best one I've ever had. It has this great sweet carrot-ginger dressing, and I often just order that. (A small goes for 3.95)
I also like their California rolls, mainly because I don't like when restaurants put crab roll mash with mayo into rolls. They also have a lunch special from 12-3 or something, 6 yam, 6 cali rolls for 5.95. My guy friends like to get their chicken teriyaki and it's also quite good. The dishes aren't unusual as far as Japanese sushi goes, but that's fine with me. Interior is very simple but the food is worth it.

All the equipment is brand new and convenient to use, the cardio machines have their own tv's and earphone jacks which is great (working out while watching reality tv kind of eradicates my guilt :P), jump ropes, and there are two tanning beds as well, a session's about $5 for members. The space is well-ventilated and smells fresh. Only thing I'd improve is having somewhere to sit in the change-rooms.
There's a trainer that does boxing classes with members (the service is included) so I'll be trying that next. Location's a bit out of the way for skytrain hoppers - it's a 15 minute walk from Edmonds. Now if only we could get a branch here in East Van...
