Only ordered veggie - but MAN - delicious stuff. Resonably priced at $40 all in for 2 people take out, WITH left overs in the fridge.
Can't wait to order again.

Pace Pharmacy

Will accomodate all your pharmacy needs with free delivery in downtown Toronto.
The blueberry waffles were amazing, along with fresh fruit and maple syrup. As was the tofu scramble wrap, and not to mention the smoothies.
Here's the thing though...
Having ONE person working the entire floor on a Sunday during brunch rush is probably not the best idea. And man was she frazzled.
Also, yes, I get the vegetarian thing, I even get the vegan thing, but doesn't vegan mean NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS in the restaurant? So then why the "dairy yogurt" option on the menu? It wouldn't have bothered me if I hadn't gotten a snarky response from said frazzled server when I asked if the "coconut creme" had diary in it (uh...we're vegan .... no animal byproducts...)
Can't wait to go back - I just hope they have more people working the floor, or one that can handle a full restaurant.

Queen Margherita Pizza
Category: Pizza
Neighbourhood: Greenwood-Coxwell
- beautiful space, tastefully renovated and decorated
- friendly staff
- delicious pizza crust
The Not So Good:
- You can't get appetizers (salads etc) unless you opt for the $25 prix fixe option (but I don't want dessert!!!)
- Pizza was good, not great - crust was excellent, but I ordered a funghi pizza and the mushrooms looked like they came straight out of a can
- while our server was friendly, he wasn't the most attentive
- $32 with tax and tip for a pizza + tiny appetizer and dessert I didn't really want/need?
Overall I'd give it another shot, but if you're gonna charge those kinds of prices it'll take a bit more to keep me coming back.
Also, I should add that the 80's pop tunes blaring from the stereo kinda detracted from the experience - was totally out of place.
A welcome addition to the neighbourhood, hopefully they can tweak the menu/experience a bit.
Dave & Ann have bought and refurbished an Ontario Northland Caboose Rail Car and turned it into a private suite on their property.
It's very clean and modern - cozy with a faux-wood oven (electric), and full bathroom facilities. Even has satellite tv (if that's your thing)
Dave is a real train buff and has gone to great extent to detail the experience around trains. Breakfast is served in their house, on original Canadian National Railway china.
Breakfast was delicious, especially the homefries! They have a hot tub, and provide towels and robes - we didn't use it because of the weather.
Overall it was an excellent B&B experience - lots of small thoughtful detail, plus they drove us to and from dinner in nearby Singhampton (at Haisai Restaurant & Bakery)
Will definitely recommend this B&B experience to friends - the view from their property is stunning as well - they say you can see for '100 miles'
This is a great resource for freelancers or independent workers who need a workspace of their own. Beats jumping from coffee shop to coffee shop.
The space has a great view of St. James Park and is easily accessible by streetcar and/or subway.
Highly recommended and a welcome and much needed resource for the Toronto community.
- most authentic japanese experience I've had in Toronto
- delicious food: enjoyed all the dishes we ordered
- giant mugs of draft Sapporo
- fun, authentic atmosphere
- 20 minute wait (!) for 4 of us arriving at 6:30pm on a Saturday night (anticipated a 90-120 minute wait outside, that's why we went so early...)
The Not-so-good:
- Expected more than 1 Japanese beer on tap...
- Were told we were at 'last-call' for food about 2 hours after we sat down; this was anticipated however there was NO line outside and empty tables inside. I'm sure we could have asked for an exception from the manager, but I was prepared to eat and drink more...
Overall - excellent experience. Really nice to see such an authentic restaurant experience in Toronto, since most attempts are often so middle of the road.
Can't wait to go back - still will be expecting a 2 hour wait and a 2 hour time limit :(

Chimichanga Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar
Category: Mexican
Neighbourhood: Yorkville
- friendly waiter
- half price margaritas (on Mondays, but there are other drink specials)
- nicely presented food
- delicious tortilla chips and guac
- convenient location
The Not-so-good:
- $15-20 mains (a $15 Burrito...I mean it is Yorkville, but really??)
- Food looks a lot fresher (and better) than it actually tastes
Overall I'd give it another shot since it's relatively new. However the pricing really threw me off. For those prices ($100 + tax/tip for dinner for 4 with 3 drinks total), the food should be fresh and delicious.

Glen Cameron Auto & Transmission Service

The owner Dave is very easy going and personable. Without an appointment he lifted my car to take a look at what was wrong and proceeded to show me, in detail (and laymen's terms) what was wrong with my brakes, exhaust etc.
I knew I needed brake and exhaust work, and all other mechanics I visited gave me a rough estimate without explaining how, why or what specific work was required.
Dave was happy to have me watch as he inspected my car, and then gave me a very fair estimate.
When I picked up my car the next day, the final bill was actually less than he estimated, plus he changed the air filter (something he noticed that needed to be done while he was working on the car)
Definitely a positive experience with a trustworthy mechanic in Toronto. Not the closest most convenient location to me (I live downtown), but just north of Finch Subway station (either walk or bus).
I'll definitely be seeing Dave again next time my car has any trouble, and will be recommending him to family and friends.
Date
Pro:
(immediately) seated on the (beautiful) patio (expected to have to wait as per usual)
Cons:
$14 for a gourmet restaurant burger is understandable, but another $5 for fries??
Cold spring roll appetizer was $11 for 2 small-ish cold spring rolls with a few garnishes. Really?
Would go back, but likely only for drinks on the patio. Shame.
