Remember when I said "I'll be back"? Well that doesn't really stand true anymore 'cuz this place is CLOSED! Dunno why. Ah well. Let bygones be bygones (what?).

Stylish, European, quiet, good wifi, delicious Lucaffé americanos, comfy seats, great collection of design magazines (I do love "dwell"), and a knowledgeable barista.

My only ignorant question is this: is the Lucaffé mascot kind of racist? I can't figure it out and everyone I ask seems to have a different opinion. So I guess this coffee shop even offers up interesting discussion points.

    I'll be back.

I strolled down the street in my skinny tie and crashed yet another Yelp Elite Event.

Met some new people, caught up with some familiar faces, drank a few delicious Brambles, and stuffed my punim with Kat's delicious homemade lemon squares. 'Twas grand on all possible levels.

Hey Kat - keep throwing these parties in my 'hood, k? Much appreciated.

Til next time!

OK OK Diner

If you're going on a weekend, well, don't. In the winter it might be more manageable, but in the summer, when they triple their capacity by adding a patio, they don't seem to triple their staff - so it's a lot of waiting around. Soooo, it's just OK OK.

But weekdays? Whole different story. Quick, good diner food. Their all-day breakfast is tasty and that's what I stick with. I'm a sucker for those hashbrown patties.  Weekday it up, OK?!

Elite Event At Chino Locos

Since I'm a fan of Chino Locos #1 (Queen & Greenwood), I had to be one of the first to check out Chino Locos #2 (Church & Alexander). So how awesome is it that there was an Elite Event happening there before the place even opened to the public?!

New huge open space, but they kept the same friendly faces from the first location. Same delicious burritos, the free beer was definitely welcome, and oh yeah - it was nice to meet some fellow Yelpers.

I'm glad I was invited, I'm glad I came, I'm glad I ate, I'm glad I drank, glad glad glad. It was (dare I say) "loco". Yup, I went there.

I could give this place 5 stars for their seats alone. I love the recliney/rocky thing they do. Also the ample amount of leg room is great.

And as a MovieWatcher member (you can sign up for free on their website), you get $2 off each movie ticket, accumulated points which you can use for other perks, and free popcorn on Wednesdays.

Their screens are big, the digital projection is nice, and the place is huge which means lots of showtimes that accommodate your schedule. I loves it.

I only ever have their burger and fries and I oddly really like them. Like, a lot. There's nothing special about the dish - just a straight up burger and straight up fries (which I douse in mayo and salt).

And that's all I really have to say about this place.

So there.

Green Room

I was at the Green Room last night for the first time in AGES. I was happy to see that it was exactly as I remembered it - ya know, business as usual.

It's a great place to just hang out with friends and have a few beers and what not, but when it comes to the food, I'm a bit leery. (Sticky floors and tables, makes me question cleanliness all around.)  But, that being said, I got pretty hungry and wanted their Avocado & Brie sandwich, which I remember being pretty good, but alas, the kitchen was already closed. Bummer.

Great coffee, but my god, the place thinks it's so hip it actually hurts. Ironically hipster staff who haven't clued in that being ironic and hipster just ain't where it's at anymore, and with a million signs over the counter that tell customers not to use cellphones while ordering or to not lean on various objects, it projects a seriously negative energy.

Srsly? Srsly.

GUFF Good Used Furniture Finds

Best used/vintage furniture store in the city, hands down. Simply, their prices are actually reasonable! This means their turnover of items is extremely high, so you need to check in and check in often. They update their website frequently, but chances are if you see something you like online, it'll be gone before you even get down to the store.

Over the past few months, I've bought a great steamer trunk, my desk, and my kitchen chairs all from GUFF - needless to say, my place looks pretty fuckin' great.

British Style Fish & Chips

This place looks sketchy, but the fish they are serving up is delish. Greasy, yet light and flaky. The chips are pretty good too.

I think this place changed owners or something. A few years ago, it was written up everywhere, and they even deep-fried Mars bars and had amazing homemade tarter sauce. Don't think they do that anymore, but thankfully the taste of the fish and chips has stayed the same.
