The Cedar Tree Restaurant

Let's put things to perspective here.

This is North Bay, Ontario. The fact that we have a Lebanese food joint is a breath of fresh air in itself and is definitely nice to see something other than a sandwhich/burger/french fry place open up.

However I digress.

Been there only once and got the chicken shawarma with the spicy garlic sauce (it's not too hot unfortunately) which came to around $7 or $8 dollars. It was pretty fucking good.

There's nothing I find more sketchy than going into a dirty restaurant, especially one where the kitchen is closed off, makes you wonder. This isn't the case here, the store is super clean and there's an open wall to the kitchen which reflects the same standard.

I definitely plan on coming back and trying other things on the menu.

I can agree that the prices are a bit high but I'm not a combo kind of guy anyway. I'd also argue that the hours should be extended (atleast on weekends) to 2:30am to cater to the bar scene downtown, definitely could make a killing there.

Overall: Good first impression here, worth checking out and getting addicted.

mmm.

Maggie's

After a night of heavy drinking I knew where I had to go, Maggie's.

I walked with my friend a couple of blocks in the cold rain in with no umbrella and I didn't care, I knew where I had to go, this place is the fucking promised land of breakfast food.

I simply cannot stress the quality of the food they serve. Garlic fries, I've never in my life experienced anything near as delicious as this item of the menu. The sausage, so good, perfect.

I don't know what they do in the kitchen back there that produces this kind of food but I know I need more of it. Simply for the sole reason of more.

Go to Maggie's, now!

Hands down the number one hangover destination for the city of North Bay.

All day breakfast? Check
Good eats? Check.
Price vs. Food portion ratio? ..Nice.

The Burger World at Algonquin isn't by any stretch spectacular but it's still pretty damn good. Every meal I've gotten from there has been pretty decent and never felt like I've been cheated from my money.

Service is about average but I can't complain since I've never complained about it.

An above average eatery in North Bay worth checking out.

!BTW! The Burger World website doesn't seem to be related to the Burger World eatery, no fleshlights at the store as far as I've seen.

Big Disappointment.

After a night of drinking my friend kept imploring us to check out this all-you-can-eat breakfast place.

Food was sub-par on nearly all fronts. Now I knew going into it that a restaurant which caters all you can eat breakfast foods wasn't going to be the greatest in town, but this was just awful. The "potato puffs" were the lone standouts which didn't need any coating of syrup to ingest.

Ah yes, the coup de grâce, awful orange juice for a steep $3.

Service was TERRIBLE. Was brought drinks when first seated and the waitress disappeared, after asking another waitress nearby for re-fills no progress in our luck.

All this for $20? No thanks, and never again.

Worst friend ever.

New Generation Grill Fusion

Neighbourhood: The Annex

In a neighbourhood which already boasts some impressive restaurants and bars, New Generation Fusion Grill really manages to stand out.

This Korean grill house has a very clean look and feel in addition to the friendly staff as previously mentioned. The food itself really sells the place and has a decent alcohol selection.

Definitely worth the trip every time.
