You want heaven in a bowl!?  Well, here it is!

I was visiting from Toronto (well, went to visit my friend in Seattle, and we drove to Vancouver).  I have been craving GOOD ramen in the last many months.  When I found out that I was going to Vancouver, you have no idea how happy I was.  Local Vancouverites and some foodies from Seattle had recommended Santouka over Kintaro.

We got to Santouka around 3 PM (because that was then we got into Vancouver).  We ran over, sat down, picked out what we wanted (I got myself the miso ramen) and just ate to my heart's delight.  It was soooo good.  Everything about it was just perfect.  The only problem was that the restaurant was a little too hot for my liking.

I had promised myself that I would never ever eat ramen in Toronto ever again.  However, a Vancouverite had told me that Santouka Ramen will be opening their very own in Toronto!  Excitement!  The Ramen Gods have answered my prayers.

My friend and I came here on a Sunday night.  As opposed to everybody else, we actually had good service (other than the hostess who was giving us a bit of cut eye for some reason).  Otherwise, our waiter was extra friendly.

I had ordered 4 pieces of uni (because I was craving Uni like MAD).  It was soooo smooth and absolutely delicious.  I couldn't get over how good it was.  You can't find stuff like this in Toronto.

My friend had ordered the "Dragonfly" roll from the Fresh List -- can't really recall what they had in there.  But it had quite the kick in it.

I ordered myself the "Street Fighter" roll because I'm a nerd like that.  It has spicy crab, cucumber & cilantro, topped w/ seared 7-spice tuna, garlic ponzu, jalapeño & shishito peppers.  Surprisingly not too spicy.  But I think if I had more of the jalapeño, it would have definitely kicked in.  The sushi roll portions at Umi Sake are HUGE.  However, presentation wasn't *the* best.  I like a place with good sushi presentation.

EVERYTHING IS GOOD HERE.  I SWEAR.

My friend had been complaining that there was no good Chinese restaurant in Seattle, and somehow I found this.  My friend and I had ordered the pork burger to share -- I swear, you can't find this stuff in Toronto (if you do, please let me know).  Even my Taiwanese friend said that the food looked legit (via images).

We had also ordered the Taiwanese stuffed dumpling, which was absolutely delicious. I think my friend was expecting another type of dumpling, but this was great.

I ordered myself a beef noodle soup, which was quite hefty.  The beef was braised quite right.  Noodles were thick and I think homemade (but I can totally be wrong).  I also had the milk tea -- THIS was the amazing part of the whole meal.  It was frothy and soooo smooth.  I rarely can find milk tea *this* good.

RECOMMENDED. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU EVER COME TO SEATTLE.  It's worth the drive to Bellevue.

Serious Pie means Serious business.  It was one of the last restaurants that I went to in Seattle.  Like serious.

This was my last Tom Douglas restaurant that I stopped at in Seattle.  Deliciousness on a plate.

My friend and I ordered the following:
1) PENN COVE CLAMS, HOUSE PANCETTA, LEMON THYME PIE: Good, but too salty, in my opinion.  My friend said that it was better last time he went.
2) FENNEL SAUSAGE, PEPPERS, AND PROVOLONE: Must get.  I thought this was much better than the pizza that my friend had.
3) MARZIPAN TART WITH ICE CREAM: It was good - I thought the ice cream was absolutely delicious and the tart was just right.  Has a great almond taste to it.  However, I looked around saw some better desserts going around that day.

Service was absolutely lovely.  Our waitress was really friendly and very very kind.  Can't go wrong with Serious Pie.

And this little piggy went "I AM A BAD ASS" all the way home.

I saw this food truck on the top food trucks in North America on the Food Network (top 2).  I thought to myself, "I NEED TO SEE THIS" especially with the hardcore metal pig.  I just had to.

I went on a Thursday around 1 PM, not many people were there.  It was me and like, 4 people.  I quickly got my order (maximus pork) with a ginger lemonade (because they sold out of the hibiscus drink).  The pulled pork was delicious -- slow cooked perfectly, but lacked the kick I was expecting.  Next time, if I ever go to Seattle again, I'm getting this with more heat.

I was craving REALLY good ramen for some reason.  I guess because I associate Vancouver with Seattle that I had assumed that the ramen was going to be AWESOME.  Don't get me wrong, the ramen was good -- but it wasn't amazing.  However, better than any fo the ramen places within Toronto, that's for sure.

Atmosphere was nice.

The ramen was okay -- I had the miso ramen.  The broth was fairly good.  We also had the butabara (grilled pork belly skewer) and nibuta (braised pork shoulder).  The pork shoulder was really good - very tender and the broth that came with it was amazing.  Skewers we could have done without.

Friendly friendly people.  However, I think the donuts were a little overhyped for me.  They were good, but not *that* amazing.  Otherwise, people are great there!

I wish I had the opportunity to try the bread.  NEXT TIME WHEN I GO TO SEATTLE.

I came by when I was in International District.  A lot of reviews kept saying that this place was amazing, so I went.  Spacious - that was awesome.  I had ordered myself the milk tea -- what surprised me about the bubble tea was that it was HUGE.  $3 for a LARGE?!  Wowzers.

The milk tea wasn't bad.  Tapioca wasn't bad either.

The service was "meh"... But what can I expect from an Asian place?

However, I would have to say, Toronto has better bubble tea.  Just sayin'.

Interesting decor, great service.  Our waiter was really nice and friendly (seems like a common theme in Seattle).

The beer was not bad here, however, if you can't take hoppy beers, go straight for the Naughty Nellie.  I had ordered myself the pulled pork burger and that was pretty good -- however, I've still had better.

I would totally suggest the nachos though.  You can't go wrong with a place that offers lots of a guacamole on their nachos.
