Hey, is it fair to review an event that you've helped make it happen? If so, it was awesome. And that DJ? OMG, BEST DJ EVER. ;-)

Aside from the huge beer selection, the Rhino is not really my favourite bar in Toronto. I go there quite often anyway since a few geek groups like to have their meetings there (Reddit meetup, Rails Pub Nite and a few others). It's understandable, since it's such a big place.

Service is definitely NOT the defining quality here, but I have to admit it has improved a bit lately.

The food is nothing to write home about, although it veers a bit from standard pub fare. The pasta is ok, and so is their fish'n'chips. Their pizzas are just too weird for me to bother trying them, but I know some people who swear by them. To each its own, I guess.

All in all, a solid "meh" place.

I must start this review saying that I'm NOT a vegetarian - not even close, actually. I also generally like my food cooked or baked. I find anything au gratin delicious!

Yet I love this place. I was skeptical the first time I went there, but forgot all my preconceived ideas when I tried their version of pasta bolognese.

It's not pasta, it doesn't have ground beef and it's cold, BUT OMFG, IT'S DELICIOUS! It's still my favourite dish to this day. Their burrito is a close second and you should definitely try it too.

They have a nice patio in the back and a separated room for big(ish) groups.

The service is efficient and quick (there's no cooking time after all!).

Definitely check it out, even if you're a heartless carnivorous bastard like me.

Incredible machiatto. Serious contender to Manic Coffee as best espresso ever.

They also serve gelato, but apparently they were fresh out when I went there.

The place looks amazing, with a very nice retro-rustic decor with some pop-art sprinkled on top. There's a big communal table, several high chairs and a few love seats.

The soundtrack is amazing and the staff is very nice. Definitely added to my list of go-to places in the neighbourhood (and certainly dethroned Crema Coffee as my after-meal coffee place in the Junction).

Enormous portions, delicious dumplings, ridiculously low prices and super-fast service. I'm definitely coming back (when I'm not watching my calorie intake).

Best. Brunch. Ever.

Definitely try the eggs Dostoyevsky. Or any of the other variations.

Anything I write besides this is completely unnecessary. Starve yourself and then go. The portions are HUGE!

This place was once pretty good, but the last time I ordered takeout they sent me a maki roll that only had rice on it.

It gets two stars for old times' sake.

I really like this place! It was one of the most happy findings since I've moved to Toronto.

You can classify the food as "I'm so fusion I don't even know which asian country I'm talkin' about, yo!" but it works pretty well.

Drinkswise, the best option ate the martinis, which are incredible and reasonably priced.

To top it off, the service is great, even when the house is packed. There's nothing not to like, just go there already. :-)

Yes, the food is pretty good and can be pretty spicy. That much is true.

But, honestly, I can't see the reason for all the fuss about this place, specially considering how much the service sucks. The servers are borderline rude; our order was forgotten on the first time and, when we tried again, one of the dishes was never delivered (at least they didn't charge for it).

I get it, it's cheap. Maybe I should get into the whole "you get what you pay for" mindset, but after reading so many good reviews and knowing the reputation that preceded it, I was expecting more.

It's an ok place, nothing more. I would come back with a group, but probably not by myself.

Pretty good English pub with good service, good food and reasonable prices. I couldn't really find much not to like here - plus the music selection is awesome!

The only reason why it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is a certain lack of personality. I feel it needs a certain je ne sais quoi to push it above average. Having said that, I'm definitely coming back during the summer to try the patio.
