We got the corner booth tonight for 3 and I rather enjoyed it! The chicken pate, persimmons salad were great starters. I enjoyed the Monk Fish with chorizo. We also ordered the pork chop but that wasn't memorable.
The most memorable for me about Grace is the Gnocchi - I've never had it so tender/chewy/flavour ful!

I'm always skeptical of asian fusion because sometimes it turns out to be just really overpriced stuff you can buy in chinatown for a quarter of the price. I've heard legends about Susur Lee though so opted to try Lee with another friend from out of town.
They have reservation slots for 6pm and 9pm but nothing in between, so we showed up at 6 and Susur himself was there to greet us.
Our waiters and servers were so nice and attentive and offered a lot of great recommendations. We went with a bottle of unfiltered chilled sake which was really tasty.
Then the food came out! Thanks to Yelp, I knew a few things that I wanted to try:
Singapore slaw - there's 19 ingredients in here notably edible flower and crunchy taro with sashimi which you mix up and eat like a salad. I LOVED IT and recommend this. The taste is light with a ton of different textures and overall just goes so well together. It reminded me of the salad at Burma Superstar in SF but with fresher ingredients.
Curry Roast Chicken - this is not on their regular menu but it is one of the dishes Susur created during Top Chef - Masters and earned the top score (5/5 from 3 critics) which they had on special that night! Twist my rubber arm, of course we were going to try it :) Both of us agreed that this was an amazing dish - the chicken pieces was so tender and seemed to be marinated in curry then lightly deep fried - so good.
Beef Short Ribs - I always love braised short ribs so this one was also delicious, melt in your mouth, meat goodness :) We also tried the miso glazed halibut which isn't so innovative or special or tasty and really pricey ($27).
Anyway needless to say we stumbled out of there stuffed to the max with no room for dessert. The night was pleasant, the food really hit the spot and the service there was great. Ae also paid a heck of a lot for it, and I've never given 5 stars to pricey asian restos before unless it's truly worth it!

So the quality is just alright, and freshness isn't a quality you look for in a closing special. I rather enjoy salmon and this one is pretty good. Depending on the day, once I lucked out and got really fatty delicious salmon.
I thought I'd share this new favourite take out dinner spot of mine. I doubt you can find these prices anywhere in the city, for decent sushi. Without this special, I'd likely rate this 3 stars :)
