Not only is this a chill place to hang out and do some massive wifi'ing, but they can make my drinks with LACTOSE-FREE MILK. For reals.

I am now stomach-gurgle free and no longer have to cancel dates just because of a mid-afternoon iced latte!

I could totally make this a regular hangout. Service is wonderful, it's sexy,  has fresh pineapple juice - tell me, how often do you get that in a regular cafe - offers great grilled flatbread and other decent light Persian snacks. AND free wifi. Zip!

The booths are perfect for evening get-togethers... Music's good, interior's dim but well decorated and lovely. I feel like I'm somewhere else far, far away.

At this point, I'm impressed and this five-star rating is partly to get people here and make it a new buzzing hotspot on College. Is it gonna work? You tell me.

Totally coming back for the shisha. $20! Anyone game?

As I write this review, I'm sitting here in my '60s shift dress, sipping a red rooibos latte amongst other Mad Men advertising exec types from the agency next door, and I am feeling absolutely SEXY.

The seats, the layout, the clientele, the presentation of drinks + treat on a wooden plank, the service, the music... It would make an early bird out of any night owl.

Forget Swatow, forget New Ho King: enter a new candidate for the after-hours Chinese restaurant crown.

Not only is the staff very accommodating, genuine, and enthusiastic, but their late-night (9:30pm-4:00am) one-plate specials hovering around the $5 mark will make a night owl of even the fiercest early birds. Tweet, tweet, twiddle, twiddle.

I've ordered the General Tao, chili chicken + lemon chicken, and all were perfectly battered. All rated high on the awesome scale for comfort food. What's more is they have THE best steamed rice I have ever had in Chinatown: where most restaurants seem to favour the mushy rice, Canton Chili makes every grain seem like a delightful treat.

Thumbs up.

This Kensington fish n' chip shop makes me do cartwheels.

It's been under new ownership for about a month now, and the man seems truly concerned about customers enjoying his food. Of course we did: Fresco's boasts the crispiest, perfectly battered fish I've had in the city, some of the tastiest fries, and good ol' comforting 'slaw -- the way momma used to make it for Sunday picnics.

And with round-the-clock Beatles music blaring out on the makeshift summer patio, it's so easy to sit back on the cozy two-seater out front, stuff your face, and enjoy the eclectic happenings on Augusta.

Highly approve!

I woke up one blah Saturday morning, consumed with an overwhelming feeling of poop. The weather was poop. My plans were poop. I was poop. Most significantly, my hair was poop.

Clearly, something had to be done. So I contacted W Salon, merely out of convenience... and I went to W Salon, merely because they had an appointment free within half an hour.

But just like finding an ideal mate who's single, I was skeptical; what stylist is free within half an hour of a call on a Saturday morning? Surely couldn't be any good.

Boy, was I wrong. Rodrigo is not only entertaining, enthusiastic, a spunky traveller with a school bus, and a foodie nut (Yelpers, rejoice), but after 15 years in the biz, he knows what he's doing. He took in my concerns, offered me suggestions, and then went to business, spending nearly an hour and a half with my flimsy hair.

As with every haircut, I'm always a bit insecure when I walk out the door, but after a few encounters with friends, the proof's in the freaking pudding: it's the first cut I've had in years where I've actually gotten a consistent flurry of compliments. Worth the $60, however temporary this cut lasts!

And I no longer feel like poop. Thanks, W.

If humanly possible, I would mate with Mainsha's jerk chicken and have its little jerky babies and have a heavenly jerky paradise of a life.

The jerky babies remain a happy little fantasy, but in the meantime, I will totally return to this Eglinton West hotspot for Mainsha's awesome chicken, peas + rice + awesome array of sweet, colourful, icy juices that will make me feel like I'm a little kid again.

Didn't try the shawarma, which I hear is top-notch, but the falafels are freshly made: crisp on the outside, and something akin to paradise on the inside. If you refuse to partake in this brand of east-side paradise, there is clearly something wrong with you.

For those of you who have suffered those heat-lamp, microwaved falafels of inferior joints, this will shoot your falafel-loving tummy into an outer galaxy.

Yum.

I come here for the freshly made Lebanese pizzas, which come out to a little under $4 and are larger than the size of my ginormous noggin. Considering my childhood nickname was "Big Head", this means something.

I keep going back for the Lahem be Ajeen pizza, aka dough w/ spicy ground beef, and for a savoury way-home snack, it pleases me every single time.

Besides the point, it's less than $4 and it's made fresh, which brings my rating up to a sparkly 3.75! Take that, Pizza Pizza.

PS. I can't say anything about their regular pizzas, strombolis, wings, or pasta. The pictures didn't really make my mouth water, so it's up to you fine Yelpers to break that territory.
