MUSTACHIO sandwiches are SO MUCH BETTER!
I'm all about the chicken and eggplant... The sauce is tasty. The breading doesn't crumble. The bun doesn't fall apart. Plus all the extras are FREE! GIVE IT ALL TO ME BABY! (Minus the hot peppers at times...)
And this is the kicker... I don't have that gross feeling in the pit of my stomach after devouring one of these bad boys! Mmmmm baby MMMM!
... And now I come here on the regular with hopes of winning big! Even if I don't win, I still save money because a night at Dolphin Bingo refrains me from spending too much money on a night in the town!
Plus their fries and gravy rock!!!
But what I remember the most from this Chuck E. Cheese fun day is the PIZZA! Oh... and Deal or No Deal.
I'm coming back here with a bunch of adults and no kids so we can stuff our faces with pizza and hog the Deal or No Deal video game. Hahahaha! Besides, I'm shorter than most kids. So I'll fit in just fine.
I'm obviously not a pro in ordering Ethiopian food since I've only tried it twice and both times at Sheba. Both times I shared the veggie platter and meat platter with whoever I was with. And I no, I won't be able to tell you which veggie and meat options we chose for the platters... but I can tell you this much. The food was impressive enough for me to go to back to Sheba a few days after my initial visit.
Oh... and I WILL BE BACK.
SCORE!
This place used to be called Beach Sushi. Now under new management, it has been re-branded as "Sumo Sushi". People are often apprehensive when trying a past fave restaurant under new management, but not me! I'm always on the hunt to find fresh sushi.
... And fresh sushi DID I find! :)
From the moment the 1st spicy salmon roll piece touched my lips, I knew I found love... soooo fresh was the salmon... it melted in my mouth... as smooth as butter... mmm... mmm... MMMMM...
I've already spread the word to multiple friends and they all have future dates to dine at Sumo.
Fyi, the owners are Korean. And if you happen to dine here with a full speaking Korean friend, the owners will make special tasters and sushi on the house.
Good food. Good owners. Means repeat visits!
I'm a Joey regular. I come here almost once a week. Location is perfect for my friends because we live spread out across GTA, from Etobicoke to Whitby and all the cities in between.
The service is unbelievable. The 1st time I set foot in Joey's I was greeted with a free sample of their house red wine. Which then proceeded with 3 more free drink samples during my visit (beer, bellini and another wine).
My 2nd visit, the waitress kindly gave us 1 of our appys for free AFTER she gave us the bill. She didn't have to do that. But when she came back after receiving payment, she told us she removed 1 of the appetizers because she was so happy we were promoting their restaurant to all our friends. And that shaved off $10 from our original bill.
Yes, Joey is a west coast chain, but I enjoy the food here. Their menu items aren't the typical items you see at chains plus they are tasty and satisfying. The items I often devour are:
- ahi tuna tacos
- California crab tacos
- lobster grilled cheese
- baja fish tacos
- ahi tuna sandwich
- lobster ravioli
- (side) mash potato spring rolls with the works
A tip to the boys, all the waitresses and hostesses are HAWT!!! So there's lots of eye candy for you!
Get bottle service and come with a huge group of only girls.
Kinda sucks you have to rely on spending the cash (approximately $250 a bottle plus 17% gratuity) and leave the boys at home in order to guarantee quicky entrance and attentive service, but that night we were celebrating a stagette. So we did it!
We had a fabulous time! Danced the night away. Closed up shop and didn't leave until the lights came on.
Granted we were already drunk a$$ before we stepped into the place. Granted we ordered too many bottles that we didn't even finish the alcohol we ordered. And yes, we were so drunk, we would have danced anywhere and to anything. LOL!
But hey, spend the money, arrive already drunk and you are guaranteed the most memorable time that you won't be able to remember! But I'm warning you now, the next day, you probably won't feel as hot. Haha!

Thanks Starbucks for NOT having your "short" size available at this location and for running out of soy milk.
You forced me to purchase a larger size of my favorite Starbucks drink gone wrong! YUCK it was gross!

Meh.
It was nothing worth repeating a visit. Nothing blew me away and nothing was nasty or anything like that, but nothing was memorable either.
I'm often baffled when I discover American cuisine restaurants have added "Asian Inspired" items to their menu. I had the wonton shrimps accompanied with chow mein. The wonton shrimps were pretty good, but the chow mein was not-so-good.
Casey's I suggest you do some research. Try a couple mom and pop Chinese restaurants or go to a mall food court to consume some Manchu Wok. Yes, Manchu Wok's chow mein is nothing close to the chow mein served at authentic Chinese restaurants. But news flash Caseys: you don't serve either version of chow mein. And for that, I think you should NOT call yours chow mein. Ya hear me!
As for dessert, I don't consider store bought cakes and calling it your own considered quality dessert unless you're bringing it to a potluck. Ladies and gents I know it sounds good, but take my advice when I say pass on the mini peanut butter brownie sundae.

Never ever have I eaten a doughnut as delightful as the creme brulee doughnut from Doughnut Plant. Each bite was sinfully delicious, but it's perfect size allowed me to inhale this doughnut guilt free.
And now, each night as I dream, I have visions of creme brulee doughnuts dancing in my head... how heavenly...!
