Hi all,

Yelp Seattle has their very own book club, and it always makes me so jealous. I love books and reading so much and want to be in a book club! This is just a preliminary thread to get a feel of who would take part, assuming it was maybe once a month?

   I'm in the middle of Infinite Jest, and I have been for the longest time. I really do enjoy it, but I've been too busy to seriously dedicate myself to reading it.

   ahaha. wow. that book is G-I-A-N-T. And from what I hear, David Foster Wallace is a challenge.
   
   Ok. Well, sadly, doesn't seem to be enough interest yet, but hopefully more will come.

   I want to join a book club!  Especially if the books were quirky and/or weird and/or interesting...  I have this tendency to start reading a million books at once and never finish so a book club would encourage me to follow through.

   Penelope! GOOD! Okay, there are TWO OF US. I figure we need a bare minimum of four, preferably six, before we can have a book club.
   
   I envision it that we'd meet once a month, in a quiet, cool coffee shop or something (unless someone wants to offer up their place, and we could have a mini-potluck), discuss the book (and talk crap, haha), and vote on the next book.

    Just bumping this in case of interest! So far, Rita (sorry I overlooked your first response - hooray for wanting to join!) and me, and virtual-Crystal, and Penelope, and Christine if she can make the time for it but she's super busy and can't commit because sometimes she goes months without reading a book because of busyness.
