The Pho Hoa on Oak and 49th is pretty good and there's another one on main that's good.  I forget the name but it's across from a car dealership next to the Public.

The ones with the craziest names. Pho Bch Nga! Haven't actually eaten there, but gotta love the name.

Scratch that, I've been informed that it has disappeared. Perhaps the owners finally clued in? That sign was a local landmark...

Some really good bets are My Chau on Kingsway for their Pho Ga, and Pho Trang An for their Pho Dac Biet.  I've yelped them both if you are interested.  Co Do also has pho, but specializes more in Hue style Bun Bo Hue.  I've yelped that as well.  Have fun!

Just for nostalgia's sake I'll say Pho 88 right by Hastings and Boundary. Sure, it got popular after someone got shot there, but it still has great Pho for cheap. Just be prepared to duck!

Haven't had too much pho in this town, but a neighborhood standby is near ourtown cafe, called Pho Lin, on Broadway just east of Main, on the same block as that blasted Starbucks.

Hannerl - thank you! Pho Lin - that's right across from Kingsgate Mall right?

I really like the place right across from Famous Foods on Kingsway - Marc, any other yelping, pho lover out there.... a little help? Is it Pho Thai Hoa I'm thinking of?

One of the Pho Thai Hoa is across Perry Street from Famous Foods (on the same side of Kingsway).

FWIW I have pulled together a Vietnamese food list as well for Vancouver:  http://www.yelp.ca/lis...

Not all pho places, but many are.....

For those that are reading Justin's review. He's referring to Kim Penh as his favourite. I know this is a bit off topic and I actually had no idea this was available until much later in my pho life. But some vietnamese restaurants have "family menus." And it's very different from pho. For example up until a year ago, I had no idea that there was such thing as vietnames sweet and sour soup, but I found out that it existed....and it was so good. Same with all these other dishes...so if it's not a chain you're going to...ask them if they have a menu for larger dishes...they might. I only found out because my Vietnamese friend told me.

Pho Thai Son on Broadway and Slocan across from Kingsgate Mall, AMAZING Pho and dry noodles. Au Petit Cafe on Main and 33rd is another good Pho place. Happy Phoiing.

As Phil says, "Pho Thai Son on Broadway and Slocan across from Kingsgate Mall" is good, but my favorite by far is Taste of Vietnam on Broadway @ Oak right across from Red Robin {ack!}. Great service, the food is amazing, its inexpensive, and the rest of the menu is solid too.

Another thing of note is the stock they use is directly related to the type of pho you are getting. In many kitchens you will get one type of stock across the board which makes it impossible for Vegetarians to enjoy it due to the fact that it is usually a meat based stock. I highly recommend Taste of Vietnam, especially if you are vegetarian.
