Hello Vancouver!  I am coming in November for a workshop.  I have never been to Vancouver before...the workshop I am attending is at the Hilton...anyone ever stay there? Is it nice? Would you stay there or somewhere else? Is there stuff to do near by...can anyone recommend a good day spa? sushi? and what is the weather like in November...? Any thoughts or advice ?  Thank you!

Weather is probably cold and overcast with light rain, all the time. Check the day before you leave (that shouldn't have to be said), but it never hurts to bring a small umbrella.

This recent thread is all about sushi in Van: http://www.yelp.ca/top...

i just got back from a weekend in vancouver and stayed at the marriott pinnacle.  service was excellent and the room provided was on the 29th floor with a phenomenal harbor view.  will review when i find time later in the week.

if you like steak, hit up gotham.  good eats.

i spent sat afternoon on granville island and ended up hopping from bar to bar and restaurant to restaurant.  good times.

I have stayed at the Marriott Pinnacle. The location is great, and the rooms are nice. The front desk service is just so-so.  Try to get a King room, because I think those rooms have curved walls filled with windows, and it is really lovely at night. Do a tasting menu at nearby CinCin (Italian) if you have a few dollars to spend. It is worth it.
