My hubs and I will be coming into Vancouver for my 30th Birthday. We'll be in town for two nights. Where would you suggest we go for meals? I've seen 5 Sails and Jean Georges Market mentioned on a few travel boards, but I wanted a different perspective. Willing to spend some money, but quality of food over ambiance is more important. Thanks!

Try out Bluewater Cafe in Yaletown: http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
Or for a great experience for Aburi style sushi, I would recommend Miku. http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
If you haven't tried Lebanese food, Nuba Restaurant is also an excellent choice. http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

I'm a huge fan of Sanafir.  They serve every entrée as a trio (three preparation/styles - mediterranean, indian, east asian).  Great atmosphere for intimate groups and they have a lovely lounge upstairs too. http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

If you like Indian go to Viji's.

You'll wait forever, but they have a bar in the waiting area. It's not cheap. It's probably the best Indian food you'll ever have.

Vij's is the way to go in my opinion.  Bistro Pastis is also a great choice, plus there's a coupon for it on http://www.grooster.com now.

Happy Birthday Suzanne.  I almost did the same but decided going to Vegas would be easier since it's closer.  Whatever you decide, I hope you have a blast!
