They're totally 30 seconds away from softcore porn. It's pretty sweet. I like the direction the ad-sales @ yelp Toronto are going. Keep up the good work.

Thanks to the original poster for bringing this fashion atrocity to light.

There might be practical reasons to convert what's left of a mosquito net into a shirt, but it's clearly a few sizes too big for this guy and he just looks kinda creepy anyway...maybe it's the 'stache.  This take (http://www.thedeviants...) looks much more appropriate for the wearer.  I'm not sporting anything like that, but some people can probably pull it off in the right contexts.

So those semi-transparent lace shirt ads from American Apparel can take a nasty turn any minute now.  Brace yourself.

I love those ads.  They combine my two loves: scantily-clad women and swiss typeface.

I am surprised in this day and age where everybody gets their knickers in a knot about everything under the sun that AA has not been called on their suggestive ads but then the sitcom Two & a Half Men which I love is totally sexist and anti women go figure

also there is this old dude who is really tall and skinny who must shop there because he is always wearing neon coloured leggings with a hot pink thong showing sometimes the guy has to be in his late 60s or 70s ... I always see him in the yonge wellesley bloor area

Not sure which ads the OP is referring to but the subway ads I see look quite horrid. It almost seems they grabbed street people and put them in ads. Remember the CK ads from about 10 years ago that looked like screen tests for twink porn?

Do you mean the AA ads on this site?  I noticed them for the first time today.  Don't like any ads on Yelp, but I guess it was just a matter of time.

looks like they pay Yelp lots of $$$ for advertising
actually when it first opened I thought the clothing looked Paris Hilton inspired

  7. 7/30/2010 Renata "nyanyanyan" R. says:

Actually, they almost grab people in the streets for their photoshoots. Anyone can apply (there's a link on their website) and I've heard they sometimes their sales people. It's the "girl next-door" feeling.

I usually think their ads suck.

Wow, I can't believe that you asked this question.  I was just wondering the same thing.  The one with the woman wearing shorts heading up a some steps towards a door just plain does it for me like nothing else.  Her in those shorts kills me.  And there's another one  of a woman looking towards camera with no background that I remember.  I saw it recently on a subway wall.  I had entered the station with the intention of walking to the extreme other end of the platform, but when I was passing one of those ads I simply stopped in my tracks.  Weirder still, I didn't even really look at the ad.  I was reading at the time, and I guess I wanted to read in close proximity to that photography.

I don't think I've ever been quite so enslaved by any pictures of women before.  They are astoundingly beguiling.
