Scott Pilgrim VS. The World is officially opening in T-minus two weeks and I can't say I've been this excited for a movie since...pretty much ever.

It's not just the (very artfully hidden) comic book nerd in me. It's also that Toronto locales are going to be so heavily featured.

Anyone else looking forward to it? Read the series? Have any thoughts on Toronto-as-actual-location for a big Hollywood film, instead of Toronto-masquerading-as-Chicag o-or-NYC-or-whateverelse?

    It's just dawned on me that most people have a different opinion of Cera than I do so let me clarify. Cera=all that's wrong with film these days.

    I kind of want to support Bryan too. Plus my friend Ker is in it. Torn.

    Also very excited for this movie.  It's nice to see Toronto as Toronto in a movie for a change.  I saw "Chloe" for exactly this reason.

    Having never heard about it, I was kinda put off by the tagline "An epic of epic epicness" that's on the movie poster... everything's trying to be epic right now. I would never guess that this movie already had a following.

    Saw a preview screening and I thought it was so fantastic. I wish I could've gone back straight away and seen it again. This will definitely be one that gets better and better with multiple viewings. And Cera surprised me! Love the books, love the film. And loooooooove Edgar Wright.

    Went to the premiere tonight and gotta say the movie is hilarious, clever and fun; great special effects, loved the graphic novel and gaming motifs; was cool to see Toronto landmarks. One complaint is that it's a bit long and bloated, and could use better editing but otherwise worth watching.

    Some of the cast came out tonight and Michael Cera is hella skinny in person. Someone feed him, please.

    @Eric M: I got a lock of Aubrey's hair for you.

    Def seeing this. Read the entire series and went to that launch party of the last volume (signage by and photographs with O'Malley!) so yeeh, it was... good. I'm not too fond with the main character (lol...) but it's REALLY COOL to see Toronto in a film as high-profiling as this one. Also good to hear, @susan, that it's worth it! I don't mind if it's a bit long :D/

    My favourite movie this year!!  Loved it.. Then I realized it was Edgar Wright who did Hot Fuzz, one of my top 10 movies.  I think the trailers don't do it justice at all, I was going in expecting another Cera, I'm a loser trying to score a chick.. which is what it was, but not really.

    Some really awesome t-dot insider gags.  Awesomer music, and just a smart flick.

    Toronto was a brilliant supporting character, that's for sure. Loved all the evil exes hamming it up, too! It's funny, I think I enjoyed all of the characters more than Scott and Ramona - but that rings true for me with the books, also.

    @Kat - I don't think it was expected to be #1 or anything, but it did get dealt a blow with a massive push for the Expendables in the last few weeks. But considering it was on less screens than that and also Eat Pray Love (at least in the US) I think it did okay.

    Awesome movie, just flat out FUN, which is a nice change of pace from what I've been seeing lately. Good times, nice to see all my neighbourhood haunts in there too.

    Good times! Highly recommended. It's a shame it's bombing at the box office.

    It was okay. Not being part of the video game generation they were addressing all the video tame tie in stuff had no emotional impact for me. The characters and actors were appealing.
