I bet you too have found yourself holding some random and not so random object wondering 'Is this recyclable?' The answer isn't always so obvious. Post your questions and answers here on where we can recycle random and not so random items instead of giving up in frustration and pitching them.

Question #1
What do you do with burnt out incandescent light bulbs? Not CFLs or LEDs but regular, halogen or other that cannot be dropped off at Home Depot, Rona, or CanTire in those Toronto Hydro boxes.

    We're not supposed to recycle plastic bags, so I collect and then dump out the bag in the blue bin. Once the garbage man told me to just keep it in and not bother. I don't get it.

    You definitely can recycle plastic bags in Toronto. Most municipalities will take them in the blue bin. You can also use them as garbage bags or not collect them at all by bringing a small re-usable bag everywhere like this one. http://www.mec.ca/Prod...

    Here's a small dilemma I had to face over the summer. What do you do with the lime wedge you put in to a Corona bottle when you want to recycle it? A friend suggested breaking the bottle and removing it since all glass is broken down anyway.
    Do you guys have any safer alternatives?
