Hey all,

I'm looking for restaurants that have free or discounted prices for the birthday guy or gal's dinner.  I know about Casey's (last heard to be $15 off the meal), but half of the party I'm with doesn't enjoy that Bar & Grill, so I'm looking for alternatives.

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

Tucker's Marketplace gives you a free meal on your birthday, but I wouldn't take my dog there.  Even for free.  Ick!

LOL, I forgot about them.  Funnily enough, the people who don't like Casey's DO like Tucker's... I'm wondering if I can find a "middle ground".  ;)  Thanks for the reminder... we might have to go with that option. :(

    Noooooooo!!!!  Don't do it!

I had to go there with my ancient ex-inlaws.  You can't even guess what they had there.  ALPHAGHETTI!  Yes, I said it.  ALPHAGHETTI!!!  Seriously, it was the worst meal that I have ever had in a restaurant, and it cost at least twice as much as it should have.

How about Kelsey's?  You don't get a free meal, but they will give the birthday person a free chocolate lava cake.  Not much, but at least it's something, and it's not Tuckers!

Omg, one time...years ago...i was going to go to tucker's with my bf. We were about to walk in when we saw this guy leaving the restaurant puking on the doorstep. We got back in the car and drove away.

*shudders*  Yeah, you know it's high-class when Alphaghetti is on the menu! *squicks*  It's my parents who love that place... maybe there's something in Tucker's food that tickles elder taste buds into thinking it's good...

Actually, Kelsey's new menu isn't too bad, can't say I'm their biggest fan, but everyone should be happy with it; and the lava cake would be a tempting offer.

@Helen  EWWWWWW!   That's just... testamental, lol.

@Min  I *wish* I could convince my parents that vegetarian is a good option, but since they're footing the bill, I don't think it would fly. *pouts*  It looks like a great place though, I've just bookmarked it to try next time I'm downtown.

Best one I've seen is that if you go to dine.to and you track down The Stonegrill... sign up for their news letter which I am yet to received anything... and in your birthday month, you receive a $50 gift certificate.

Actually, if anyone else is interested, I think i just found the entire list of dine.to VIP Listed restaurants that entail, "access to a wide range of exclusive benefits which include automatic entry into all of our contests, compliments for your birthday and/or anniversary, invitations to cocktail evenings, periodical newsletters and other special promotions." :

@Aeryn - as I recall I think there was something someone put up a few days ago about discount coupons etc. for dining out.  Why don't you search back through the conversation reels and see if you can find it.

@Christine - I had used some variation of the keywords "discount" "birthday" and "restaurants" before making this thread, but hadn't found anything recent.  I also looked under the food category, but I might have missed something... (there's a reason why I wear contacts, LOL) or the title of the discussion was vague. *shrugs*

Thanks for the tip though, I'll keep looking! :)

Why don't you just go out for a delicious meal on your birthday...not searching for a sub par meal in order to save a few bucks.

@Ryan - Oh, trust me I will, with close friends I'll do something fun and party hard.

I'm just looking for a good-quality type restaurant with birthday perks for the dinner with my parents.  Recent economic stuff has hit them hard, but they're proud people, so there's no way I could offer to pay my way when they'll be taking me out for dinner.  It's one of those "milestone" bdays, so they don't want to stay at home for a nice cooked meal...   It's a guilt thing.  *shrugs*
