40,000 restaurants in Paris...

According to this BBC article, Paris has 40,000 (!!) restaurants. Tokyo has 160,000. I don't even want to contemplate the population and size of Tokyo so let's just stick to Paris, which has a population of ~8 million people. That's about double Toronto, which has 5,000 restaurants - so Paris has EIGHT TIMES the number of restaurants that we do.

Can we say "mind boggling"? Are you ever overwhelmed by the number of options??

    I just can't even fathom how you'd begin to sift through those numbers...NYC has 20,000 and new ones are opening/closing all the time. Seems too competitive!
