The water park was great. It was freezing cold when we went last Wednesday so the park was dead... meaning we had the run of the place and could get up and down the slide in 5 minutes as opposed to the typical (busy day) wait of 30 minutes to an hour PER RUN.
There are lots of things I would recommend:
1. Get there when they open - I would be there by 9:15 - 9:30am on a sunny day - you can park in a close spot, get your stuff in lockers, change, look around and be ready when the slides open at 10:00am.
2. Buy at least two lockers - they are small. You pay a $5 deposit and get it back when you return the keys - they cost $4.42 each.
3. You can bring a picnic lunch, and you have in and out privileges... so grab yourself a picnic table when you get there and throw your towels on it and it's yours for the day...
4. Bring two sets of bathing suits and towels and change before lunch. Bring some crazy warm clothes for the end of the day... being at the top of the slides is cold - you are way above the tree line! You are cold at the end, and it feels so good to be in warm clothes. There are hair dryers there.
5. Be ready for a work-out. You walk about 8 stories of stairs for each run.... And you would be carrying the tube boat as it is too difficult for the kids - kind of a dingy for two. You have to go in pairs for a lot of the runs.
6. Price: $31/over 1.32m and $25 for under 1.32m, whether you are on the waterslides or not.
7. We had the kids in MEC wetsuits. These are not allowed on some of the body slides as they don't have as much friction and the zipper on the back apparently scratches or can get caught in the slides (the crazy fast body slides).
8. There are lifejackets everywhere for the little ones. For some of the runs, it was mandatory that my little one wear one.
9. There is a fantastic tube ride for the whole family - a big round tube that everyone gets in... definitely one of our favourites.
10. The kids LOVED it.
We will go again, and would even consider a family pass.
Don't know how it compares to the one in Gatineau - but they have slashed their prices to compete - it is all over the news here. So if that place remains cheap (apparently $10 ea) we will go there next.
