next weekend is girls weekend and we'll be in Montreal for a night or two.  What are the must do's for happy hour, life music, dancing, chill hang out bars/lounges and places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner?  Any other suggestion would be great!

It's bone chilling cold up there.  I spent New Year's up there so I recommend some good boots and a really warm coat. Otherwise, just hit RESO, the underground tunnel which connects to shops and different metro stops.

Anyway, the main drags are Laurent Street, Crescent and St. Denis.

As far as dancing, I had a good time at Newtown which is on 1476 Crescent Street.  It's upscale with clean, minimalist decor.  They play top 40 and dance music.  Here's the link:  http://www.newtown.ca/

If you're looking for a more French Canadian flavor - stick to St. Denis.  Saint Sulpice is supposedly a really good bar to hang in but it's better in the summertime since it has a rooftop terrace.

You should also check out Rouge but the age min is 25 so you didn't indicate what the age ranges are.

If you're looking for a hip/hop atmosphere, Orchid or Tribe looks good.  I personally haven't been to either of them but I did look at Orchid as one of the places to hit for New Year's.

If you want an old classic, try Times Supper Club.  I heard they've been newly renovated so it's worth checking out.

Anyway, hope this helps in terms of nightlife. I really didn't eat in Montreal but I suggest you pick up the Rough Guide as they'll have a more substantial list.

    Hope you have fun!
