I have never been to Montreal, and am excited to see the city! As helpful as guidebooks can be, Yelpers usually know what's really up. My boyfriend and I are looking for a few interesting, off-the-beaten path type/insider tips, if you've got them (we already have plenty of touristy ideas!). We're both sort of creative people...interested in the arts, music, books, and so on, if that helps.

Also, we're looking for some good vegan/vegetarian eats. I have heard that Chu Chai and Aux Vivres are the best. Any personal favorites/hidden gems?

   I know it's 'touristy' but I think you'd enjoy the Biodome. I've been amazed at the way they utilized the facility (and really enjoy the beaver exhibit too!).
   
   Do hope you post after your trip  - I'm heading up there in early October and have only been in Montreal in Feb and can't wait to see the city in the fall!

   Malissa, the Biodome does look interesting, and it seems there's a lot of worthwhile attractions in the immediate area too. I hope you enjoy your trip! I'm heading up in October as well (I love autumn), and think it will be lovely.
