I'm on the hunt for a bakery that does custom cakes (think Cake Boss). I've gone through several reviews of For The Love of Cake, Sweet Bliss, and CreARTive Cakes, but most of the reviews were based on cupcakes (no surprise here). I've yet to find a review on the cakes/custom cakes... Help?!

   Oh man. I found a cake shop up in north york last year to make my wife's 30th bday custom cake.

   My wife is the biggest simpsons fan ever. She always said she wanted the cake that Homer got Marge, that was a Fudgey the Whale cake, all blue, that said "To A Whale of a Wife". She found it hilarious.
   
   So years later for her 30th bday last year, I took a screenshot of the cake from the Simpsons ep, and took it to these guys to make. They did a great job. Here's a pic of it from their website.

   Any graduate of Bonnie Gordons is good, but even better if its the teachers. These 2 were teachers at the school and won cake designer of the year and wedding cake of the year in the past. Also have a contract with Holt Renfrew as well.

    Grace - any luck yet?  I want to see pictures of the final product!  I've seen some pretty creative cakes out there lately.  I'm inspired to bake and decorate, but don't have any talent.

    CakeStar just did my birthday cake.  The theme was "There's No Place Like Home" and they made a pair of Ruby Slippers that sat right atop the cake.  Actual little mini shoes, with an insole and the whole bit.  Un-freakin-believable.

    Melanie- I've checked out all the sites and reviews, and I think I'm going to venture out to the stores to actually try out their baked goodies--- if the cupcake can't pass the test, nothing can!
    
    The boyfriend actually got me a M.A.C. (cosmetics brand) themed cake, anddddddddd I died a little. The cake itself wasn't too fab in taste (he's not a yelp-er), but who needs a good tasting cake when it LOOKS good? LOL. Unfortunately, he loves his food, so I can't come short in taste or looks for his cake.

    This bakery will make a cake from any picture you throw their way! just had an adorable Dora themed cake made for my niece's bday and the cake itself was fantastic...plus super reasonable.
