I love film.  Without the film makers though the celluloid just doesn't happen.  Since the turn of the century we have seen some incredible film makers....John Ford, Frank Capra, Federico Fellini....the standard greats Spielburg, Scorsese, the Coen Brothers.  Who makes your top lists for film makers?
Mind include:
Alfred Hitchcock
Francis Ford Coppola
David Cronenberg
Pedro Almovar
Frank Capra
Ingmar Bergman
Gus Van Sant

I'm not a fan of particular filmmakers but the producing duo of Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer were top notch. It's a shame Don passed away in '96 or else they'd still be blowing shit up along with great storylines.

I love Tom Hanks as well - the "Band of Brothers" series is my all time favourite mini-series and I don't usually like army shows or movies. And I'm looking forward to seeing the new one "Pacific."

Definitely Hitchcock! And though I'm trying to avoid the obvious, I had mad respect for Spielberg and Scorsese.

For the musical lover in me, I'm a fan of Stanley Donen :)

Not sure I'd put this as "All-Time" but Christopher Nolan's work is great to watch as well as Danny Boyle's (particularly Shallow Grave and 28 Days Later)

@Neha....loved Lolita.  Must say though, one of my most favs was The Shining.   Chillingly scary film.
