   I was born and raised in Calgary, and I would say, that someone from California should expect that it's not THAT cold there. Maybe for a couple weeks in the winter, but that's about it.
   
   Oh, and cowboys. Expect a lot of cowboys, mostly during the first week of July.
   
   I'm so happy yelp is finally in Canada!

   expect great people, great pubs, lotsa outdoor stuff to do if you are so inclined. A cool downtown area and quite a few great restaurants.

   I love Canada and enjoyed my stay at Calgary.  The Fairmont Pallisade Hotel was memorable.  I met and talked with Juliette Lewis (we were staying on the same floor).  And, the unforgettable Royal Canadian Pacific train.  (sigh) Wish
   I could go on that train again!

   OK. So I just moved to Calgary two weeks ago from Los Angeles.  I got so into Yelp in LA, where I was for a year, and it helped me get settled there. So I'm pretty ecstatic that http://yelp.ca is here and that I get to contribute.

   I been to Calgary and my brother lives there - actually I was told that it's kind of specific, but as I seen - I had a good time. Perfect places to shop, nice restaraunts and entertainment spots!

   I've been living in Calgary most of my life. Elise was right when she said the winters are not that cold. When it does get wintery it does'nt last that long because of the chinook winds we get.  As they say in cow-town... "if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes" it is so true.
   
   I hope you have a place lined up to stay, cause the house and rental marked is quite tight right now and expensive.
   
   Have fun and visit banff, summer or winter.

    I -loved- Calgary!  It's been a few months, so I wish I could remember the names of places I went.  I saw Cirque du Soleil while in town, as well as taking a trip to not-so-nearby Edmonton to see the great mall.  People were nice, food was good, and I'll be back!
