I went in with a big mop of unruly brown hair and came out with sleek, smooth shapely brown locks. Basically the haircut was fantastic. On top of that the atmosphere is really chill.
I went in, sat down, put my feet up and read some magazines while I…More »
I will admit I have never been lucky enough to stay at the Harrison Hot Springs resort and spa. However, over the last few years I have repeatedly eaten at two of the hotel's restaurants. As the Lakeside Cafe opens nice and early at 7am this is a…More »
This is a great place to bring the family or go watch the game and drink beers with the gang. You may ask how is it possible to mix these two groups? Well half of this massive building is a restaurant and the other side a pub. Just remember on a…More »

I remember going to the first Noodle Box when they had a street cart in Victoria. Wow things sure have changed over the years. There are now five locations in Victoria and two locations in Vancouver. The one on Homer is conveniently only a few blocks…More »
I think this business has its strengths and weaknesses. For strengths I would say the rolls that we ordered (California & spicy tuna) were both above average. I loved the Japanese pickles and I suspect they may be home made. The staff were very…More »
I have been coming up to Harrison Hot Springs to work for years now. I wish I had known about this place earlier. Of all the restaurants I have tried here the Old Settler Pub has the most buying power for your dollar. Not that it is cheap, but they…More »
I have stayed here for work a few times as the rate they give us is within our budget compared to the other options available in resort town of Harrison Hot Springs. That said, I would never pay to stay here on a vacation. The building and decor is…More »

7-Eleven is a chain with so many locations and with such late hours it truly lives up to the name convenience store. The Smithe location is set close to two stadiums, at the off ramp of a busy bridge and in an area with a mix of both residential and…More »
This is a great shop in a great town. The staff are very friendly. The meats are very fresh and the cuts are lean. They also sell a lot of local fish, meats and pies. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of product that they sell.
Ono has a great selection of work, safety and outdoor gear. Most of what they carry is really reasonably priced. They also have some fairly obscure work gear that you would normally have to hunt all over town for. The staff are really knowledgeable…More »

I went here recently and brought a friend. I was really disappointed with the painfully slow service. We were in a rush and it took just over an hour and a half for breakfast. I think the owners should seriously consider hiring one more person to…More »

I sometimes stop and grab a Japa dog from the cart before a movie. Well if the line up isn't ridiculously long I do. As far as street food goes it is worth the coin. My favorites are the Okonomi featuring bonito flakes and the Terimayo with dried…More »

I Love the decor as it always puts me in the mood to converse and eat a big rich meal. Then again any restaurant with a chandelier and a gracious host forces me to enjoy myself. Jules also has a great kitchen and bar.

I stop for gas here all of the time. My reasoning is because they consistently have the cheapest full service gas prices on the stretch of Highway between Duncan and Nanaimo. Plus the family that runs the business are hard working good people.
