This was one of the best meals I have ever had.
It started with complimentary shooters of cucumber gazpacho.
We then tried the infamous "This Morning's Farm Egg" in a stew of mushrooms and lettuce broth, the heirloom tomato salad, the Maine crabmeat on…More »

I have been to Safeway in the Sharon Heights shopping center many times and never noticed anything special in…More »
We chose Manresa for our 10-year anniversary dinner celebration. Upon being seated at the table, we found a card signed by the staff -- what a thoughtful gesture and a fitting prelude to an excellent meal. We chose the tasting menu, along with the…More »

The MOzen Bistro puts the "zen" in the Mandarin Oriental. Well, it's one of many reasons. Zen seems to ooze from every surface at this hotel.
MOzen serves up beautifully plated and high quality dishes at Vegas prices. However, the flavors and…More »
Must be something about the bracing salt air that makes the Ambrosia burger and coke taste so good up here. Sure, the views all along the coast are incredible. But you stop here to take a break from the drive and watch the jays swoop down and steal…More »
The Post Hotel has been welcoming guests for more than 25 years, but the Dining Room has to be biggest influence on its popularity. With an award-winning wine cellar featuring 32,500 bottles and more than 2,200 selections, AND Executive Chef Hans…More »
For our 14th wedding anniversary we went to a different restaurant...but we had a pre-celebration back at Wakuriya! So glad we did, as the other restaurant was good but not as good. The June menu at Wakuriya is awesome; we may have to come again…More »
Hubby and I celebrated our 13-year anniversary at Wakuriya. We sat at the counter even though… Read more »
Hail to the chef, Scott Ekstrom! At Angele I found all the French-inspired flavors I love with a lighter touch: perfect! I very much enjoyed my Boeuf Bourguignon and hubby's halibut. Don't tell anyone, but I even asked for more bread to sop up…More »
The existing reviews pretty much tell all...this is a beautiful, quiet space for any meal, but especially sweet outside on a sunny Spring day with fragrant flowers in the garden in bloom. We had a pricey, but deliicious breakfast. As far as "value"…More »
Alexander's is a classy place to treat a client, especially during the holidays. We went for lunch and did not order heavy entrees, but the Hamachi Shot appetizers were delicious and worth the price (six shooter glasses for $15) and the Shaken Beef…More »
Fringale has been one of my favorite French restaurants in the City for the past five years. Everything is delicious, especially the desserts. Tables are close together in a small space, but the overall atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Bon appetit!

Ramen From South Bay to South Bay (17)Until there's more time to Yelp, here's the short list of ramen places I've been to from SF to LA. |
In Search of the Perfect Cupcake (20)I cannot possibly try all the new cupcakeries that are popping up all over the place; I would be fatter than high school Monica on Friends. But here are some places I've tried. |

Late Night Places (6)In search of places to eat after 9:00 pm, these are the restaurants where we often end up. |
O Canada (13)It could be the refreshing mountain air, the high altitude, or the fact that Canadian cooks are often of European descent. I found Rocky Mountain cuisine to be above-average delicious and the bread served at every restaurant was unique and awesome. |
Sherri's Bay Area Sushi and Sashimi Experiences (59)Fresh fish is not a luxury, but a must-have, and after downing this staple at least two or three times a week, I still don't have as extensive a list as I should. Maybe I need to up my intake frequency... |
The One-Star List (14)Most of the time I don't want to bother writing about the one-stars and when I do, it's probably because I wished I could give the place no stars or negative star ratings! |
So Much to Do with So Little Time in Vegas... (48)I've gone to Vegas so often you'd think I'd be bored of it, but every time I visit it is usually for a company event or tradeshow with not much time to check things out. Also, the Strip seems to be in a constant state of new construction so it's never quite the same each time. |
