I had been looking forward to trying out Kazu after reading a positive review in Montreal Mirror last week, but unfortunately they were closed for renovations the first time I popped by. Thankfully they're back in business and it was definitely worth…More »
The fried chicken is amazing. Do yourself a favour and share a bucket with friends. Portobello tacos are delicious and my friends really enjoyed the fish tacos although I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Have also had the steak burrito, which…More »
I've only been for their brunch, but it doesn't disappoint.
Not much has changed from Sparrow's old rotating brunch menu, and that's definitely not a bad thing. If anything, I prefer the light, airy atmosphere of Lawrence. Check out the funky…More »
Great stylish brunch spot in the old port.
Good selection of food on the menu and the servings are generous. I had the brunch Cartet, which came with a ham and cheese croissant, salmon cake, salad, fruit skewer, aged cheddar, and a fig. It was so…More »
This place is still amazing, but I think I may have overhyped the hot and sour soup. I think it was especially good the first time I've had it, but ever since then it's just been pretty good but nothing spectacular. The search for a perfect bowl of…More »
I had dinner here tonight on the suggestion of Jeff S. (thanks, Jeff!) and the dumplings did not… Read more »

Before moving to Montreal I would always make a point to visit Juliette et Chocolat on St. Denis when I was in town. And with good reason. The chocolate is ohmygod so good. No, seriously.
So, last night while strolling down St. Laurent on my way to a…More »
I don't know if I can add anything new that hasn't already been said, but basically all you need to know about Romados is that you're going to get delicious, rotisserie chicken seasoned to perfection with a side of equally tasty salt & pepper fries…More »

This is a great brunch restaurant. The decor is pretty slick with graffiti on the walls (not to mention a motorcycle) in the front and rounded booth seating with mod lighting in the back. Not to mention the dim red lighting in the bathroom with big…More »
I love when restaurants clearly have a specialty, you just know that they focus on that one thing and do it right. La Chilenita is all about the empanadas, and man, are they ever good!
La Chilenita has 3 locations around the plateau, but I like this…More »
I've been a fan of St. Viateur bagels since way back, but until recently had never dined in.
So, here's the deal. The sandwiches are a bit overpriced at around $10 (especially considering the cost of an individual bagel) but if you get a bagel with a…More »
I was really happy to see there was a new sushi restaurant in my neighbourhood and even happier to find out that the food is good and the prices are reasonable. Yes!
Friendly service, a good variety of specialty and classic rolls, nice presentation,…More »
I was introduced to Chez Jose by one of my coworkers who is pretty much obsessed with the place. It's a really funky little cafe and there are almost always lineups of people getting takeout sandwiches at lunch. Needless to say I grab lunch here…More »
I had a 2 for 1 voucher from The Green Conscious Guide (which is fantastic, btw), and having read the reviews here it was really a no brainer to try Burritoville out.
The service is really friendly, laidback, and generally awesome.
The food is…More »
Haven't had a chance to try the food yet, but I had a nice, frothy cappuccino here. They've nailed the cafe ambience with a good amount of seating and great artwork, plus I hear they have wifi, which is a big plus! Will definitely be coming back.
Stumbled across this cafe after walking for hours on Saturday night and needing to rest our tired feet. This cafe has nice high ceilings and a big exposed brick wall. Nice ambiance, with a big menu to go with it. I opted for a decaf coffee with…More »
Great prices, friendly staff and a pretty good selection of food, with an emphasis on Persian. I can't get all my staples here, but I still manage to do the bulk of my grocery shopping at Akhavan.
The takeout kebab is also quite tasty.
