Seems like a great place but the food is a little overpriced for me - although looking at the menu now, it seems more reasonable than I remember. I only ordered a couple breads/pastries so maybe those were more expensive than I liked.
The coffee was…More »
Finally went here after reading hearing about it for so long. Naturally people spoke about the availability of Kogi tacos here, but I rarely heard anything specific about the bar itself so I was always hesitant to come here. The other night a…More »
Ye olde lunch decision. Yet again I found myself craving some new restaurant for lunch and saw this place in my bookmarks. I ordered the pad Thai lunch special which came with a healthy portion of pad Thai (I got chicken), two vegetable spring…More »
So delicious! It has been a couple months since I was last here so unfortunately this will be a short review since I can't remember exactly what we ate.
Four of us arrived a little late, around 8, on a weekday and the place was packed. Luckily,…More »
Backstage is a decent place with a good karaoke scene. It can get crowded but it's a fun way to unwind after a long day, if you're in the area. I don't think I'd ever make a special drive to come out here unless a friend is having a gathering.
Went here for lunch the other day and had a great time. The place was mysteriously empty when we arrived at 12. It filled up, though, after we sat down.
There was a group of us and we sat outside. Nice atmosphere, nice place to be outside,…More »

Pretty cool place. I like that half is indoors and half is outdoors. The fire pit looks cool and provides a decent amount of warmth. Even though it's on a major street, you don't really hear the traffic at all. The lounge is set up with…More »
I bookmarked this place to try and promptly forgot about it, as I do with so many bookmarks on yelp. It wasn't until a coworker suggested that we all go out for pizza, saying that he wanted to try this new restaurant called Bella Vista, that I…More »
Huge selection of beers, wines, liquors and spirits and good prices with a friendly and helpful staff that can get you that perfect brand of Cachaça to use in your Caipirinhas.
We all know the original Bigfoot Lodge is a superb bar with an excellent bar staff, fun karaoke nights, delicious drinks and an all around great atmosphere. But what about those of us who moved to the west side? Don't we deserve some of that…More »
In a similar category to the Bicycle Kitchen (where I built my bike). I now live on the west side and needed to do some maintenance so a friend recommended this place. It was perfect. Open relatively late (10pm?). Very friendly and helpful staff…More »

I've only come here on Thursdays for karaoke. Not sure if they do karaoke very night. It's not too crowded on Thursdays, which is why my friends and I chose that night.
I can understand why it isn't that crowded. The waitresses/waiters are not…More »

Came here last night for a Laugintas tasting - 5 beers for $15 plus a souvenir glass and 20% off any additional full beer. I'd actually never heard of this place before but just happened to read about it on a blog I follow and was pleasantly…More »

You gotta be prepared to come in there. It gets really crowded and loud but luckily never feels stifling. Drinks are reasonable for the location. Tuesday nights there is free, live jazz. How could anyone pass that up?

I read about this place in the weekly yelp, chocolate edition. They mentioned the choco chai - Oaxacan cocoa and Indian spiced tea. I knew immediately that I had to have it. I finally made it to this place this weekend. It was worth the wait.

Really good food. I've only eaten here once but I really want to go back.
The first time I biked to Santa Monica I went to the beach and saw this place on the way. I was really hungry so I'm sure anything would have sufficed, but I'm glad I stopped…More »
I've of course been wanting to try this place for a while, given all the media buzz it's gotten over the past couple months. I actually live in walking distance so I'm surprised it took me this long. Thankfully, though, I found myself coming home…More »

This can be a fun place but it's never somewhere I'll think of going. They have a fun trivia night (I forget which night, maybe tuesdays?) but they don't have enough chairs for everyone. perhaps it's too popular for its own good.

This is a pretty classy place although you don't have to be classy to come here. It's stop pre or post movie for a quick drink or light bite. I don't remember any specific moments or meals here but there certainly weren't any bad experiences.
This is what a good, home town, home grown bar should be like. Walk in and you feel instantly like a part of the crowd (even if you know no one there). One half is a crowded bar while the other half seems more like your best friend's basement and…More »
