We're from Chicago! We went to Toronto!

See All Lists
We road tripped to Toronto to see Stereophonics, Paul Weller and Oasis at the Virgin Music Festival. Yelp has yet to take off north of the border so without our favorite online tool we actually had to talk to people to find places to go. I've made this list in hopes that it might be helpful for other yelpers to find their way around this great city and maybe stimulate yelping up there. Overall Toronto reminded me a lot of Chicago, the people there are very friendly and they've got a lot to be proud of with their great city.

We road tripped from Chicago in hopes to relive our somewhat lost youth and rock out to our favorite British Acts of yesteryear.

Sunday's headliners were solid, with Stereophonics, Paul Weller and Oasis.

I haven't listened to Oasis much since the 90s,…More »

Not much to add here that hasn't been said.  We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday.

Great space with graffiti over the walls.  The staff is tattooed, friendly, fast and rocking.  Music over the PA was a good mix of indie our afternoon.

The portions are…More »

A divey, artsy honky tonk bar a bit off the beaten path.  We came here on the recommendation of our lovely, tattooed waitress at Sneaky Dees.

What's up with all the cool spaces in Toronto?  The Dakota Tavern lives subterranean in a low ceiling,…More »

Funky lounge bar west of all the clubby BS on Queen Street.  The space is set in the lobby of a fomer dive hotel.  You're vaulted over by an old muraled 40' (sorry 13m?) ceiling and lots of weather ornate detail in the room.  The walls featured local…More »

Stopped by here twice on our alcohol-fueled Toronto weekend getaway.  Another cool space, dark with red lighting.  The very front of the place has several couches.  A little further back was a cramped space with the stage, viewing/dancing area with a…More »

A restaurant that turns into a bar later in the evening.

Bier Markt is a new, clean ornate and sterile place.  This space reminds me of the giant brew pubs you run into in the suburbs of Americana, except this one isn't surrounded by a huge parking…More »
