I see a LOT of concerts, and the Paradise is my favorite venue, hands down (especially after the remodel)!
Sound is good, setup is good, vibe is good, and complain about the obstructing pillar in the center allll you want but to have it set up the way…More »

Essentially the same venue as Harper's Ferry, which is to say that, they haven't changed too much from the initial venue, and I'd say that's a good thing. Sound quality is high, stage location is smart, I enjoy the venue size, and they seem to book…More »

did someone say dance party?
this was a pretty cool venue. came with sally f., met up w/john a. later in the evening to see dragonette (and i got to hang out for sally's interview with the married component of the band, dan and martina).
bar had a…More »
it's a dive. the beers come in bottles or plastic cups.
decent concert venue, tho it's really convoluted to get to by T.
basically, i wasn't wowed by the place, but it worked for what i was there for - a beer and a concert. moo.

Saw the Wilco/Conor Oberst show here, and I actually thought this was a surprisingly decent concert locale (the downstairs bbq was quite tasty as well)! If you stayed sitting in…More »

so the cantab is an ok venue for a show downstairs, but it is super-tiny, crowded, has sort of a weird set-up with tables (you can't really rock out in front if there are people sitting there), and tho the show i saw was good there was something…More »

The Burren makes me happy.
It's one of the few places t-accessible that hosts coverbands, and they have this 2x/week. and i love me some good coverbands.
food here is standard irish pub fair - i've had fish and chips here which were pretty good, and…More »

i'd been to the phoenix landing for food and drinks before and always enjoyed the atmosphere, but i'd never been for dancing until last night. the dancing was fun for a tiny $5 cover, and though crowded there was still space to move. coat check was…More »

Ok, so I tend to have mixed feelings about the common ground, but all in all i dig this place. 80s night is a BLAST, and a little less crowded in the summer, but if you're going to 90s night on friday get there early, because if you get there at 11…More »
So the bar may be a little small, the waitresses may have kind of a scowl (i'd be annoyed too if i had to push my way in 80s getup through crowds of people), and the dance floor may be a little crowded, but tonight i went to one of the best 80s…More »
i'm tremendously surprised to be giving this place any more than 2 stars. i went to the boston "matzoball" (how jewy am i, right?) on christmas eve, and i expected this to be a massive meat market with terrible music and lame attendees. the only…More »
the crystal is pretty much my favorite bar in the country. many fond memories of this place - hometown sweethearts specifically! epitome of what a dive bar should be, drinks are cheap, bartenders are fantastic (have patty make you a vodka cranberry…More »
