Woodlot opened this weekend, and I had heard good things.
Most restaurants aren't ready / up to snuff in the first few weeks, let alone the first few days. Three of my most finely refined food lovers and I all left overly stuffed and totally…More »

Awesome value.
Great for your vegetarian friends, too.
Tasty. Be sure to load on that orange hot sauce on the table.
Burritos are the way to go....although the salmon quinoa is interesting sounding...it can be somewhat dry.
The back patio is usually…More »

Service was 8/10. Waitresses are all those hot vegan hipster types - which I'm super attracted to / annoyed by. Duality of man.
Fresh makes healthy food enjoyable.
Fresh makes less healthy food (yet still veg) even more enjoyable.
I had the BBQ Burger…More »

So TODAY I went to Rawlicious up in the Junction. Felt it necessary for a detox meal after a weekend of ethanol-overkill. It was fucking sweet. I had some sort of fake chicken salad sandwich and a kale/spinach/mango/pinapple/ba nana green smoothie.…More »

Went for a classic Bun meal with vermicelli, shredded pork, a spring roll, and vegetables. Best spring roll I've had at a pho spot. End of the meal, someone informed me the entire menu is vegetarian. Mind Fuck.

It was as good as the ratings suggest.
I ordered something other than a roti by mistake...the manager said it would be no problem to bring me one...so he switched it! And it was my fault! I had a lamb and veg roti. Fuck. It was great. Eat half though,…More »
Although I wasn't wowed by Hot Beans - this new spot by the same people really impressed me.
The space was bright and clean - something I'm sure that took a lot converting it from whatever pile of garbage was there before it and full of young, semi…More »

Tried a great new sandwich. The Falafel with Donair sauce. Donair gets capitalized because it's that good.
Always grab a chicken or veg samosa to munch while I'm waiting for the sandwich (3 minutes is a struggle when I'm hungry).
Also: Rice pudding.…More »

I've almost certainly gone back to this place more than any restaurant in Toronto (McDonald's excluded, obviously). It's almost entirely reliable in terms of a decent time. At its best - it's excellent and at its worst- it's pretty good.

I guess I should give a higher rating since I've eaten more meals from the Golden Turtle than anywhere else. #74 and a #163 please.Diet coke.
You get your food fast. Everyone likes that. In and out. Weird, language limiting service.

You know what? I think vegans are really easy to please. This place is..MEHOK.
Its got some some character on the inside, old kitchen tables that look like they're from the 70's, red booths, cool looking tattooed waitstaff, etc etc. Everyone around…More »

Came here with a dairy/gluten free eating person and had an outstanding dinner.
Prices were reasonable, giant menu with lots of choices for those annoying eaters out there - even what I chose ended up being without gluten and dairy.

Comforting spot in a shitty neighborhood.
Had the Sukhothai Pad Thai combo (with the smallest mango salad in the world...possibly 2.5 oz) and drink for ~$11. Got it Spicy (but not Thai spicy). It wasn't very spicy (or I'm that much of a man).

Aquila is a good find. Its got a misleading sign out front that makes it look like a cheap spot for drinks- just another grimy Junction dive. It is, however, a very nice restaurant for omnivores with bison, duck, and venison offered as well as…More »
Had the meatball today after they wrote about it in the National Post. It's the messiest sandwich I've ever attempted to eat. It's really good, too. Get it spicy (unless you're a sissy).
