Not among the deluxe places to stay in Vancouver, but if you are looking for a cheap hotel to stay in the off-season just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Vancouver.. This Howard Johnson's is one of the best deals around.

Singer-Friendly Open Mic Piano Bars (12) Sing a long venues with live musicians...who are not afraid of letting the customers to the mic... A DITTY... If Frank and Sammy, crooning slowly... Thru cloning science most unholy... Had mated and begat a son... Well, Weide Z. would be that one...	For Your Karaoke Fix... (27) I am zee greeaate karaokaay arteeest!!! I do not mangle zee beeoootifull songzz! (sometimes I, uhm, re-arrange zem eez all)
Hangouts of the non-sing-a-long sort... (6) Places good for just hanging out.. even if you're not in the mood for food or the chance to sing...	Service and Repair (8) When my stuff wears or breaks down.. These guyz.. I trust them.. (so far)..
Gluten-Free.. uhm.. friendly.. (13) Being diagnosed with Celiac disease (wheat-gluten intolerance) is sort of like being condemned to Heck for the rest of your existence.. It's certainly not Hell .. providing you observe your dietary restrictions, you are not suffering any pain and torment.. it's just that suddenly the eating-out aspect of your life becomes.. somewhat less fun... no more regular pizza, beer, pastry, pastas, breads, brownies, cookies, sandwiches, dishes with soy sauce, soups with roux... etc... Still, since my condition was diagnosed..I have found the following places that accomodate my condition (also.. if you avoid the flour tortilla offerings.. Mexican restaurants..)	Restaurants.. Eaterias (49) OK. I eat. I'm just not a very discriminating eater is all. So this list is short. You will note that several restaurants on my reviews are not in this list. That's cause I experienced their karaoke shows.. not their food..OK, at one I actually did both eat AND sing..
Day outings.. (26) Some day trip descriptions of nearby spots worth a visit and some means of getting there..	Big spending patron of the arts.. (hah!) (6) Here are some performance and art enterprises well worth your time and money to check out..
The Grocery List... (7) Three or more sources for groceries, uhm justifies another list.. a baby list at any rate..	Street Corners... (2) OK.. mebe this is a stupid list.. But for what it's worth, I have two street corner reviews..
