My favorite place in Toronto, and I didn't even get to try the food! I wish I had time to eat here at least once though, because the menu looks fantastic...who could pass up Delirium mussels???
We came here for beers on 2 separate occasions and had…More »

This was my favorite meal of my entire trip through Toronto. Not only are the views amazing here, but the food is top quality, and the price you would pay to take the elevator up to the tower anyway is dropped (however, the meal isn't cheap, so it…More »
This was easily my favorite club we visited during my trip to Toronto. We came here twice, both on a Thursday night (we tried coming back on a Saturday night, but we just had too many people), and had an absolute blast.
The cover is $10, but it's…More »

Oh my god, I ate so much food here. Someone had a brilliant idea to go out to Chinatown one night, so I looked desperately for any help on Yelp, and got lucky by trusting the one review this place had. They have real Chinese food here, not the kind…More »

Nowhere near the nicest overall hotel I've ever been in, but it was definitely nice in its own way. Everything feels like it's done with a sense of old world grande elegance, which is certainly a nice departure from many other…More »

This was just shy of a perfect rating, but mainly because of the slight disappointment with the main course that may have just been my own silly delusions of grandeur. Overall this is easily one of the best restaurants in…More »

I had the fortunate experience of stumbling into Le Pain Quotidien on their "friends & family" soft opening, and being treated to a complimentary lunch on a day when it seemed like everywhere else in the entire area was closed.…More »

We stopped in here for a few beers on our very first night in Toronto, and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a very quiet Sunday night, and we were some of the only customers in the bar around 10pm. This worked out to our advantage because we had…More »
This is located just around the corner from its sister-bar, the Brant House. We were directed over here one night when we showed up at Brant House with about 30 people, way too many to fit in on a busy Saturday. I'm really glad the bouncers told us…More »

This isn't much more than an expensive elevator ride, with an even more expensive gift shop at the bottom. The cool thing about it though is that once you're up at the top you're really glad you came, because it dwarfs practically any other…More »

I thought this bar was super cool, and definitely one of the best I encountered in Toronto. We spent most of our time on the second level, so if the first is anything different I can't really speak to it, although I did notice they had a nice large…More »

Gabby's was ok, but certainly not something I would recommend anyone stopping in for considering all the other options in this area. The service here was really good, and our waiter even split the ticket 12 ways, which was…More »

This is a pretty crazy looking restaurant / bar, with just about every type of seafaring, pirate related and nautical bit of memorabilia you can imagine emblazoned around the entire place. It looks very much like a normal pier house from the outside,…More »

This place is only marginally better than Jack Astor's around the corner, but still not somewhere I would choose to dump my money given the other options available not far from here.

I don't think this place is nearly as bad as many of the reviewers would make it out to be. Granted, there are much better clubs in Toronto, and many of them in the same area, but Circa still has a wide variety of club atmosphere to offer. For…More »

I really hated this bar. I have no clue what the food is like, nor do I care to find out, because they couldn't even get the bar part right. This place had the fortune, or misfortune depending on your view, of being just across the street from the…More »
The Music Moves Me (8)Here you can catch live concerts, small indie bands trying to get their name out, or just a good local guitarist on certain nights. Either way, they're all great spots to hear something that doesn't sound like a fly buzzing in your ear. |
Veg-I-Might (34)It takes a bit of convincing, but sometimes I like to stray away from a meal heavily subsidized by meat. These places at least cater to that blasphemy in a decent way, whether they be good or bad in actual execution. |
No Walls Needed (60)Like the idea or not, mobile food is becoming more popular every month in major cities across our country. The lower cost of doing business, partly from no rental costs and typically self-employed labor, gives us quite often some very unique food ideas at relatively cheap costs compared to your standard restaurant. If you're going to venture out there and have something different, I suggest trying some of these places in your quest for ultimate food bliss. |
Latin Love (25)The cuisines of Central and South America are all greatly different from country to country, but generally feature some of my favorite peppers and hearty dishes that are great in any season. From tacos to ceviches, stews, wonderful beans and grains, they are simple at heart but full in flavor. Unfortunately this is the only Latin list I'll make that doesn't feature Sofia Vergara or Alessandra Ambrosio. |
Oh No They Didn't! (49)Avoid these places if you like any of the following things: your health, your safety, your money, your friends. You are very likely to lose any or all of the above by visiting them. These are the worst of the bad places I've been to, and you do not want to be on this list if you're a business (and somehow still IN business). |
Crafty Cocktails (34)When I stray away from my love of craft beer it's more often than not because the cocktail list is so appealing I just can't resist. I really appreciate bars that come up with their own unique mixes, and here are some of my favorites. |
The Great Outdoors (16)There's so much beauty outside the walls we find ourselves in every day. Get out there and enjoy it before we ruin it! |
Memories of Miami (10)For one week straight I ate and drank my way through Miami and South Beach, stopping occasionally to dance, sleep, or lay in the sun. This list serves as a chronological journal of that trip. |
Delicious Treats (38)Because not every bit of food has to come during a regular meal, here are the shops I like to go to for those in between cravings. |
When Ireland calls... (12)These are the places inspired by the greatest island on Earth, both good and bad. Just being a bar isn't enough, the ambiance plays a key role in making the perfect true pub, restaurant or novelty shop. |
