Tour D' Roti

See All Lists
One of the many benefits of living in the most multicultural major city on planet earth is that we are constantly spoiled for choice in thing culinary. Other big cities may have a good roti shop or two, but we have dozens, if not hundreds. Roti from the West Indies to the East Indies, from Guyana to Malaysia - they are all represented with pride here in Toronto. I am going to do my best to list the best as I discover them.

Bacchus? The God of Roti? Who knew?

The proprietors and staff of this fine establishment seem to operate in Caribbean time - the hours are more of a guideline than an absolute and when they are busy, don't expect niceties like answering the phone.…More »

Pam's is back and that fact alone says something.  It is rare for a restaurant to survive MULTIPLE location swaps within a few blocks of each other.  The reason the place persists is the food.  This is some of the finest Caribbean cooking in the…More »

This place is simply great at what it does; no-frills Jamaican food.  The lunch deal is one of the better values in the city and certainly in the neighborhood.  The jerk chicken is very good and always very fresh (it flies out of there) and unlike…More »

Everyone on Yelp seems to love Curry in a Hurry - but not quite enough to give it that fifth star.  Will I am taking the plunge and willing to back it up. With prose. Oh yeah, CIAH is that good - FOR THE STATED PURPOSE - Curry. In a hurry.

I'll admit…More »
