these folks care about their espresso. One of the rarer places that the staff asked me how I was enjoying it, and when they realized it wasn't as good as it could have been, they promptly served me up another one. Their coffee is already fantastic,…More »
on my whirlwind tour of Toronto cafes, this is one of the few places that made me do a double-take upon drinking my first sips. My espresso was really, really good, and the butter croissant was nothing to sneeze at, either.

These guys are doing a lot that is right. They've got the requisite Clover and quality coffee on hand. They also sell a decent selection of gear for the home brewer, including Baratza grinders and Technivorm machines. The place gets a little noisy…More »

I enjoy the space of this Spadina location a lot more than its sister cafe on Queen street - they've skipped on the dank, while upping the industrial chic and keeping things open and airy.

This is a very good spot to get some quality espresso. The semi-subterranean cafe is still airy and quite atmospheric, and they seem to serve more desserts and food than other cafes in their class. If I lived closer to here I'd frequent Red Rocket…More »
I've been remiss in not reviewing Mercury. I found them early on and was readily taken with their quality espresso (Intelligentsia beans) and the groovy, repurposed-building (an auto garage, maybe?) style atmosphere. Like Kat F. noted in her review,…More »
