Some notable changes since my last glowing review of this place:

1) The ox tail recipe has been changed to some salty mess of a dish.  It's nowhere near being as good as Pat's anymore.  It's kind of not-so-good.

2) Tuesdays are rammed with people.  The…More »

Banh mi?  Who needs banh mi when you have such a ridiculous amount of options at this Vietnamese 'all-in-one' shop!  I'm a recent convert to this place, opting for this over it's yellow neighbor Ms. Nguyen something or other.

Yes, this is a classic hole-in-the-wall type restaurant, and one of very few places in Toronto to get Cambodian food. My girlfriend is Khmer, so this was a must-eat destination. Here's the breakdown:

FIVE WORDS: spicy patty on coco bun.

Crisp and delecate on the outside, yet piping hot and soft on the inside.  Oh, the sweet sweet innards.

This item is more like a small meal.  Since it is served warmed, it's great on a cold day of walking through…More »

Oh Banh Mi Yellow Sign.  I love your banh mi, but you need to step up the variety and quality on your other goods.  Ima-breaka-breaka down!

Can you really complain when you can get a menu item for $1.25?  This cafeteria style Mexican joint is dirty, quick, and cheap.  It's everything that one would expect in Kensington Market, and it's everything a cheap Chinaman could ever want.

Not sure why this place is called "Jumbo Empanadas" when the real name should be "Fucking Delicious Corn Pie"!  Those crazy Chileans.

First off, the empanadas are good.  Really good.  And cheap ($4).  However, the size of the empanadas (I swear) has…More »

I don't care if this place has been shut down in the past for rodent violations.  Anyone who thinks any restaurant in Chinatown is cleaner than the next is really fooling themselves.
