Always consistent service and food and friendly staff.
Many people forget about the patio upstairs. It's in the shade, but it's nice to go in the evening when there isn't any sun. And since it's upstairs you don't notice the Broadway "traffic" as…More »

I've been eating here since it opened, but never got around to the review. But how could I forget about crave?
Some notables:
The patio-quaint, quiet, and absolutely lovely on a warm day. (In back, in case you thought that the front one was the only…More »

Finally, the best restaurant, and only really "good" restaurant in GI. The rest are for tourists, as those of you who are born and raised around GI or the lower mainland would probably agree.
We got here about 830 on a Friday; I couldn't believe that…More »

You know, I only ever had terrible food here at prices that are way too expensive. But that was awhile ago. Maybe it's changed? It seems to me that the people eating here are GI tourists.
It is fun to go for drinks, though, and I had the sweetest…More »

Great beer. Nice selection of wine. Service is excellent. So is patio on a warm day.
Food is just "ok." Calamari rings aren't bad; same with fries. Brunch is better.
Better to drink here and eat at Marcello's up the street. Overall, a fine place.

Even post NY the pizza is always pretty tasty and the gnocchi with creamy meat sauce is the best if you like meat. Order a side of bread to pick up the extra sauce (if no one is looking) and yep, it's pretty standard that all of the Italian places…More »

Yep, actually reviewing this place (sigh).
One of the better patios around with free parking there or close by. Was one of the best/available/accommodating game choices during our crazy play-off time--believe it or not...pre-riots, of course.
Food is…More »
Enjoyed CR again last night on the patio, on what was probably one of our last patio nights of the summer. They had blankets which was great since there are no heat lamps. Just watch that you get one without hair on it. Why do I always get the one…More »

Really doesn't need another review, but try to go for a special occasion with a group of six or so.
A must have-three tier seafood tower. $150 or so. Sushi is definitely some of the best I've ever had. Even the oyster was good, and I don't always do…More »
Too crowded b/w 9-12 on weekdays. Seating outside a plus but being harassed by homeless not so much, even if I do feel guilty sitting there enjoying my coffee. Some of the tables are so slanted that you can't even set your drink down. Sorta weird.

Looks really cute but they couldn't even heat up my cheese croissant since they had no heating device on premise. Sorta odd if you ask me, considering they are connected to the hotel and are supposed to cater to tourists. The croissant was light and…More »
When you enter the Ascot Lounge you are reminded of your grandmother's parlour circa 1940-1950 but with a twist. Chandeliers decorate the ceiling. A taxidermist has done some wonderful work in the form of a a deer head that hangs on the wall. And…More »

Since I usually eat out at around 8 o clock or so for dinner, I decided that the key to exceptional service is to arrive around 4ish for an early dinner or really late lunch.

Las Margaritas is a three in Vancouver but a two anywhere south of the border.
I would give it a 2.5 if I could. It only received a three since the servers were nice and I expect very little in Canada as far as Mexican is concerned.

Wow! Even after a long night of partying after the game, this place is AWFUL.
The poutine ('cuz that's what you order at that hour) tasted like petrol. Not gas, but petrol (if there is a difference). There was dark liquid poured on the fries that…More »
Wow, this used to be my favourite five star restaurant in Vancouver. In fact, I thought that I'd already reviewed this with a five star. Not anymore!

I returned with a big group since I thought that I'd give this place another chance. Service was okay, but we ordered our meals ahead of time, once again. The appetizers arrived almost as soon as we did, which was great since everyone was starving!
