The Last Supper....communal dining at it's best!

See All Lists
Communal dining is a growing phenomenom in restaurants and cafes in about the city. It ain't for everybody but it can be a fun and interesting experience. I

I wanted to really give AM's 3.5 stars but the rollover won't allow me to do this.

I accidently discovered this little gem of restaurant in Brampton accidently.  I have seasons tickets at the Rose Theatre in the four corners (Hwy. 7 &…More »

There ain't nothing better on a summertime afternoon than a lunchtime quickie....a nooner, as it were. That's what MTK is offering up this summer. I follow them on Twitter and last week I got a lunch notice that they were serving up a lunch quickie…More »

There is so much truth to that age old adage;  "Never judge a book by its cover."  Restoran Malaysia, as you can see by so many of the previous reviewers, is that sort of book cover.  It is innocuous and in a million years you'd never guess what was…More »

I can't seem to make the half star symbol work because I'd give Table 17 three and a half stars. I found myself there late last night where I met up with an old friend for dinner. I have been wanting to go there for a while so when I found myself on…More »

La Vida Es Buena! (8)

Here's to the good life!  This list is a reflection of some of my happy spots in and about the GTA.  Sometimes it isn't just about the food, sometimes its the vibe or the sense of goodness you get about a restaurant or entertainment venue.

Hakka Hakka Hakka! (3)

No, I'm not trying to clear phlegm from my throat.  This is my Hakka list.  Thank you Devan for inspiring me to discover my true Hakka love!

Where There's Smoke.....There's Meat (7)

And on the seventh day God created the barbeque and hence began the quest to create the perfect barbequed food.  I love my 'cue....from the deep south philosophy to slow and low all the way through to the Carolina's where it's all about the sauce and the sizzle.

This is my meat journey.

So many fish in the Sea! (5)

Not all fish and chips are created equal.  Just a simple meal.  A piece of fish and a side of fried potatoes.  When it's right it's a thing of beauty and when it's wrong it's a bottle of Imodium waiting to happen.

Here's my list....

My Decemburger! (17)

"A Hamburger is warm and fragrant and juicy. A hamburger is soft and nonthreatening. It personifies the Great Mother herself who has nourished us from the beginning. A hamburger is an icon of layered circles, the circle being at once the most spiritual and the most sensual of shapes. A hamburger is companionable and faintly erotic. The nipple of the Goddess, the bountiful belly-ball of Eve. You are what you think you eat." - Tom Robbins

Grape Expectations! (3)

I consider myself somewhat of a closet Oenophile!  I live in a small house and tucked away into the lower level of my house is small wine storage unit with a temperature control (currently it sits at 57 degrees).  Currently it holds about 220 bottles, primarily big, bold, full bodied reds, a few champagnes and a couple of other trinkets.  I have travelled extensively, guided by food and wine.  I would like to take this opportunity to perhaps do some wine reviewing and make some suggestions as to the good, the bad and the ugly at the LCBO.  After all, life is too short to drink crappy wine, right?

"My favorite four letter word that starts with an F..... food."
