YEEEEEEEESSSSS.
That's the sound of my food-gasm, as I ate the best bao EVER. I tried both the pork buns (aka "bao") and pineapple custard bao fresh from the oven and piping hot...light and fluffy, baked to a light golden brown, delicious filling.…More »
Chef Danny Ting sighting! Go here, and go here NOW, before the elusive chef leaves again! Apparently, his talents (of Wan Lai, Bobo Garden & Golden House fame) were recruited to help in the reboot of Coco's after new owners took over. The menu is…More »
Love! And I'm shocked there are not more reviews of this place! Thanks to a tip, I came to the Chinatown food court in search of hand-pulled noodles prepared in Chinese cooking styles...i'm not a fan of Hong Kong BBQ stand, which seems to be one of…More »
Almost 2 years later, and Surin of Thailand is still a good consistent place to grab a cheap ($7!) Thai lunch special. I discovered the Chicken Massaman on the lunch menu recently while looking to stray from my usual order, and though I'm sure the…More »

Surprising- it was hard to believe the zen-like space of Great Wall when entering this strip mall location, . I had the "Snow White Chicken" (also know as Moo Goo Gai Pan elsewhere) with rice, a spring roll and wonton soup. Perfectly cooked juicy…More »
Tried the famous Tonkatsu ramen...while nice and cloudy as ramen broth should be, it was pretty salty. The noodles were good and chewy, the crunchy cabbage & veggies complimenting the noodles and broth, two rolled piece of pork that i dunked into…More »

Dumplings and broth in Mom's Cabbage Soup is comfort-y goodness. "Cabbage" suggests smelly and German-like stews, but this is the exact opposite of that...delicate yet flavorful dumplings filled with shrimp, crab, wood-ear mushrooms and some clear…More »
I've been meaning to try Bo Bo Garden for awhile..it's been on my bookmarks ever since I found out this place has great congee, which I love. I ordered the pork & preserved egg congee which is my favorite kind. It delivered...silky smooth, a little…More »

Yummy rolls- good value, with most standard rolls around $5-6. As with most sushi places, service is quick. Decorated in modern sleek red and black- a nice cool respite on a hot day. Love the cool lighting in this place- they have fun hanging…More »
Shrimp pho did its job in warming me up on a windy day...the broth wasn't very complex Or as tasty as other pho places but at least it wasn't bland. A way to see if a Vietnamese pho place is good is to see how fresh their veggies/bean sprouts/thai…More »

To be honest, I expected much more, based on so many rave reviews about this place. Despite passing Miso Izakaya everyday on my way home from work, I've somehow managed to have never visited for dinner until now.
Snow pea shoots- not bad, but I had…More »
Not bad, not bad...my Atlanta chinese restaurant experiences are finally getting better. I sat down next to a table with 2 middle aged chinese women having their Saturday congee so I figured I must be in a good place.
I ordered chow fun and congee,…More »
Convenient, cheap, fast, and intown! Decent pho noodle soup for when the soup craving hits, if it has been very cold outside like it has been recently, or when you don't want to venture up to Buford Highway. Ttasty broth, soft rice noodles, and big…More »
3.5 stars. I came here for Saturday "brunch" dim sum, soon after they opened in the morning (10am). The restaurant is in the same plaza as Hong Kong Supermarket, with plenty of parking available. Spacious and open, the decor is pretty gross, but…More »
Great value- lunch bento of miso soup, salad, a crunch roll and a spicy tuna roll for a grand total of $8.50! The tuna roll was nice and fresh, though a little loose and sloppily put together. The crunch roll's tempura shrimp was the crunch part,…More »
Best thing about Top Spice was the proximity to the Cobb Energy Centre, making it an ideal pre-show dinner destination.
I enjoyed the non-meat portions of my meal. The chicken in the coconut soup and the pork in the pad see u were both very…More »
The dim sum isn't that bad at this place, but their awful service knocks it way down on the star ratings. None of the staff spoke Cantonese either, which I find strange in a restaurant named Canton House...so my food requests in Cantonese were…More »
Not sure if I keep ordering the wrong things or if I'm just used to much better chinese food? (I grew up on chinese food from Toronto, New York and Boston, and also with a chinese chef as a parent.) I'm on a quest to find good Cantonese style…More »
MUCH improved from my last visit- I had the chow fun, which was a much better choice than the rice dishes I tried last time. I also ordered in Cantonese this time around- though I wouldn't want this to have an effect on the quality of my food order,…More »

Making myself pretty (or at the very least- not scary) (10)I don't wake up looking like this...I gotta work at it. OK, not "work" per se, more like "pay" for it. |
Decatur (9)Tons of great places to eat & imbibe...all within walking distance of a square. |
Carbo Loading- Italian Style (Atlanta) (9)Italian dining in Atlanta has made me a little gun shy...while I love Italian food, I had a couple awful Italian food experiences when I first arrived in this city and usually end up at the same 2-3 Italian places I do like...so hopefully, making a list will encourage me to try a few more restaurants out there. Here's all of what I tried (minus the pizza places). |
Desert weekend getaway (11)Arizona vacation- Quick relaxing getaway, I need to make this a regular vacation destination! |
Party of one! Dining solo (19)Places in Atlanta where I've felt comfortable dining by myself. The only requirement is that there's a bar or small tables off to the side- nice bartenders, easy parking and good people watching areas also are a plus. For me personally, It's also nice to have no judgment or people staring if I want to order multiple dishes to try and bring leftovers home :) |
Restaurants to bring out-of-towners (14)Here's where I've brought family & friends visiting from out of town, who want some type of Atlanta food experience |
Being a tourist in Atlanta (13)I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago but I still enjoy exploring the city like a tourist. |
Dim Sum Quest- Atlanta (8)UPDATE: Found great dim sum!!!! See my last review on the list for Golden House.Original list description: I've pretty much given up on this one...I don't think great dim sum exists in Atlanta (especially a la carte and to go) so I'll have to settle for just good dim sum. |
Escaping my office for lunch (8)When I'm sick of my office cafeteria, cross-eyed from staring at a computer screen, or my butt is numb from sitting on my swivel chair, here's where I go for lunch. |
